Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Why, hello, Big Wolf On Campus

[He thought he might have smelled something which, if he'd focused, he could have pinned as wolf approaching!

When he's greeted from behind, however, he practically jumps, swings around to face it - the bag swings and collides with his side at a stop. And the pair of particularly distinct scents is certainly harder not to give attention. He balks for a moment, tentative and wide-eyed - is that what he thinks it is? Maybe this man is -

Oh, dear heaven he could be meeting one of the teachers. His voice comes stumbling out and piping up.]

-- Oh, uh...

No, sir! I mean, uh -- thanks, sir! But uh -- ...I'll be all right!

This is just, uh - this is just my first... year here! S -- so I'm just -- uh... [Scritches at the back of his neck.] You know...

[It came out riding something like a thoroughly cowed giggle. He doesn't assume that the man does know what he's getting at, and now that he's on the spot, he doesn't know quite what he's getting at, either. Does he have an excuse to stick out enough that he'd be asked in particular?

Most of any scents on Toboe probably wouldn't be anything too out of the norm on a bunch of schoolkids, never mind that he's one of a few fresher from home than the others. He does, however, definitely also smell of wolf.]

[His nose twitches as he tunes the words out in favor of examining Toboe's scent. Yep, that's a wolf. A nervous wolf cub that is absolutely getting a warm welcome from the fledgling pack leader around here.]

Don't get rigid on my account. [He gives Toboe a bright smile.] Twitch any more and you might just get arrested for suspicious behavior.

["Don't get rigid" elicits an internal "oops" and an apologetic smile. Bigby's smile right after, however, wipes out the "oops" and most of the apology in favor of a lifting. His brow lifts out of a faint ducking, his smile flits a little wider, riding a boost of... definite encouragement!

And self-consciousness. One of the teachers is also a wolf. What on earth were the odds of this, this early on and he's run into a senior on multiple counts, one who seems nice even if he doesn't like him just yet; he cannot blow this!

And taking cues would probably be a good start on not-blowing-it! That first part wasn't a reprimand, it was also encouragement, but he'll still take it - loosen up. Okay. Try to act natural...

Snaps right back to tense; wide blink. Quick scan around with half a mind to check for any passing looks.]

I -- ohh, geez, do I really look that suspicious?

[There's a kind of uneven airiness to his tone as if he was fifty-fifty on whether or not to take that as a joke and to joke right back and whether he was approached in the first place because he was acting suspicious, if he was; his look however is mostly that of someone who wants to be sure!]
