THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

R...rallies??? [ Oh my god Eren like that doesn't sound creepy and KKK at all!!!! Sam actually looks totally unsure once that's brought up. He's going to try and believe in his precious new son but wow. ]

Yeah, I mean, the Friends of Humanity have meetings and participate in protests and things like that.

[He sees Sam looking at him like that.]

And you...invite mutants? To hang out and argue with you??

No. They come, too. And they protest us and yell at us.

Haven't you ever been to a protest?

[This political stuff and training for the COMING WAR is most of what Eren does, so he's not sure about what other teenagers do.]

Um...not really. But we had a debate club in school that I went to once? And I've seen highlights and stuff on the news.

[ Facebook and video games. And dating and stuff. He needs to take you to a skate park someday. ]

You can't believe what you see on the news. Sometimes they twist the truth try to make us look bad. Like there's a fight that breaks out, and they report that it was all the Friends of Humanity's fault. It's all misleading.

[It's not like he's never played a video game! They have computers. But he doesn't do that a lot. And only certain, approved games are allowed. He hasn't been on facebook or gone on any dates, though. And he hasn't been to a skate park.]

[ Sam would introduce him to Plenty of Fish but he got in trouble trying to use that, once....... It was embarrassing for everyone involved. ]

Oh yeah, my mom says the news is mostly just garbage they use to get ratings and stuff! There's probably nice Friends of Humanity and mean ones, just like there's nice mutants and mean ones.

[Eren would not want to use such a site anyway! He doesn't want to date!]

Yeah, I guess that's true.

[He's not going to say that everyone he'd lived with was nice, because he had gotten in arguments there, too.]

But mutants say all kind of bad things about us. And sometimes it's just humans in general they're talking about.

Well...aren't there a lot of humans who say bad stuff about each other? And mutants too. Neither side always does a perfect job.

Okay! Nobody's perfect, yeah! How is that an argument against what I said? I wasn't saying everyone's perfect.

I just--I don't know!! You made it sound like humans were better and poor humans and you didn't care what happened to anyone else...

I didn't say all humans are perfect! I argue with humans all the time. Lots of them are wrong.

But...do you think they're better?

[It would probably support his argument better if he was deceitful, but Eren is an honest young man.]

...Doesn't that make you the same as the people who think they're better than others? No one's better than anyone else. We're supposed to be equal...'least that's what my parents always say.

I don't think I'm better, either. I think I'm sick, and I need a cure.

What about people with different-coloured eyes?

Different-colored eyes don't kill people.

....Uhh, yeah they do. Or can. Whichever--the point is that the eyes and stuff is genetic too and that's not being sick!

Well, if people with different-colored eyes die because of it, we should try to help them too, and fix the gene if we can. Are you saying we shouldn't try to help people with genetic disorders? Like hemophilia and cystic fibrosis?

[Sorry, Sam, the Friends of Humanity make these kinds of comparisons all the time.]

Even some cancers are genetic. But we shouldn't try to help those people either, is that what you're saying? Because their genes made them that way.

There are mutants with mutations that hurt them, or hurt those around them. They want to be normal again. Shouldn't we help them?
