Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

I never had a fancy phone before coming to the school. It's kind of neat how connected it makes me feel. I can read stuff, hear stuff, see stuff, kind of catch a glimpse into the lives of people around me.

It's kind of like what I used to do anyways, just watching life from the outside looking in...

A-anyways, most people call me 'Shadow'. -'Kagerou; was the name her mother gave her... it didn't feel right having strangers use it.- It's nice to meet everyone...



[ Action - Hedge Maze ]

It's late. Or at least it feels late. It's not yet curfew, but with the changing seasons so comes the darkness settling in far earlier than before. And with it, the rising of the moon. And with more of the moon visible, so did Kagerou's mutation become more obvious. Donning a hood and dashing out of the girl's dorm, some might spot a figure hurriedly making her way out to the hedge maze...

[Voice]

Hi there, Shadow. I'm Kaguya.

Now that you're here, you don't have to sit apart from anyone. We're all mutants here, after all.

I guess so... But most of you guys seem really normal.

[eternalprincess]

Normal's relative. It's not like we don't have a couple of blue-furred teachers here, or a guy with green fur as a student.

[soundandfurry]

That doesn't mean people won't treat me different.

[eternalprincess]

In case you haven't noticed, I'm not treating you any different from anyone else. And neither, I think, would anyone else treat you differently here.

You've only just spoken to me. You haven't met me.

Well then, wouldn't you like to meet me face to face sometime?

-Kagerou's end remains voice only, of course.-

Don't worry, I'm not that scary.

-After a lot of hesitation, Kagerou eventually turns on her cam. Wolf-like ears twitched and she had the back of her hand visible as she pulled at the edge of her shirt, fur having grown there.-

[voice]

There's nothing really special about it.

People talk. It's what they do.

That just kind of sounds like you take it for granted.

[loveswaffles]

Pretty sure I wouldn't miss it even if it was gone.

Well, I never really had it before... so I'm not sure how it will all turn out.

[loveswaffles]

You've never had the internet before?

Nope. Mamma and I lived pretty much, uh... off the grid.

[loveswaffles]

You mean in the forests or something.

[soundandfurry]

Well not always.

And just as she rounds the first bend in the maze, Auron will be there, calmly tilting his head in greeting as he pauses in his walk. "A bit late to be out, isn't it?"

[soundandfurry]

She immediately recoiled, cursing herself for having not smelled him coming up. Caught again...

"I don't care... I'm sleeping outside."

[unsentmale]

"Is that wise?" he asked calmly, brow quirking up. After all, he himself might enjoy the occasional night outdoors but the nights were growing colder and there were still the odd attacks made to the institute when it was dark.

"It's what wolves do," was the best answer Kagerou could come back with, as always. For her it was just a simple matter of doing what one was used to. And to escape the stifling, forced nature of the school, at least for a night. It didn't help that the moon was drawing out her powers, the fur showing up pretty noticeable along her arms if the man looked closely.

Auron took note of the sprouting fur as he stared stoically at the girl through his glasses. True, he could try to force her to go back to the dorms, but it was obvious she was intent on staying outdoors for the night. Still, he had to point out, "You're still human. You will have to get used to sleeping indoors at some point."

"Why should I? Everyone says it's for my own good, but I slept outside all the time before coming here and I was just fine!" Poor Auron was about to have a lot of previously indirect anger and frustration put his way.
