Weekly Update - Dec14th to Dec20th
OOC
⊗ Applications are closed! We'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who put in a reserve, put in an app, or even just threaded around on the Test Drive! Let's do out best to make new players feel welcome, yeah?
⊗ The AU CR Meme is still up! Look around for opportunities to connect and build character relationships!
⊗ And another reminder that there will be NO FORMAL ACTIVITY CHECK FOR DECEMBER. The normal day AC starts is, of course, Christmas Day on this month, and we'd just rather not bother with it.
⊗ Before the end of this week, there will be a sign up post for the Hellfire Club related event in January!
SCHOOL NEWS
⊗ Plot Relevant! Bridget's shopping trip is off to a start. Expect some unfortunate issues to pop up today, however...
⊗ The newsreel mingle is up! For those unfamiliar, we regularly post these up as a means of both world building and jump-starting CR for threading characters.
⊗ Since an app round just finished, there are some new characters to get to know!
⊗ It's everyone's favorite time, GOSSIP TIME! Feel free to post to this thread and let people know what's the hot buzz around campus!
AROUND THE WORLD
⊗ It would be a good idea to volunteer at the District X soup kitchens this year. With the recent vandalism, they could use all the help they can get...
⊗ The National Film Board of Canada has hired carolers to sing outside of Logan's window at the Institute. We'll see how well this works out.
⊗ The street wars between Friends of Humanity and the Mutant Liberation Front are getting more and more violent. Mutant members of the MLF have been seen using powers in scuffles, while the Friends of Humanity seem to have some suspiciously high tech anti-riot weapons on them that ordinary citizens are unlikely to have access to...
⊗ More investigation is being done into the death of Donovan Zane, the young man allegedly killed by the MLF during a riot. All information so far points that he was an active member of his church, and was the nephew of retired colonel and current reverend, William Stryker. He was a pro registration activist, but preached a more peaceful, non-violent means of dealing with the mutant crisis, including the founding of a ministry group at Empire State University designed to witness towards mutants. Whether or not the MLF is truly responsible for his death is still a mystery at this time.
