Weekly Update - Dec21st to Dec27th

OOC
Once again, the AU CR Meme is still up! Look around for opportunities to connect and build character relationships!

One last reminder that there will be NO FORMAL ACTIVITY CHECK FOR DECEMBER. The normal day AC starts is, of course, Christmas Day on this month, and we'd just rather not bother with it.

Be sure to go over the January Event if you haven't already! And sign up if you feel like you want to be a part of it. Rosters for each phase will be announced next month.

SCHOOL NEWS
Plot Relevant! There's still threading opportunities in the Shopping/Friends of Humanity log if you want them!

Come play dorky card games with Liir!

A new student has arrived. Come help her feel welcome!

For any players that will be around for it, a catch-all holiday log will go up on the 24th.

It's everyone's favorite time, GOSSIP TIME! Feel free to post to this thread and let people know what's the hot buzz around campus!

AROUND THE WORLD
Genosha has, largely, been at peace since the start of the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah. While there is no national faith in Genosha, the Jewish celebration has taken on a secular meaning, a uniting of the people of Genosha and their struggle as a young, mutant nation. In spite of all the turmoil around the world, the hottest coal in the fire is completely calm.

The National Film Board of Canada has given Logan the greatest gift of all... leaving him alone for the rest of the year while they all go on holiday.

If it wasn't obvious before, it's definitely obvious after the Manhattan Mall incident. The Friends of Humanity have access to the sort of technology even some world power militaries have trouble getting a hold of. None of the soldiers that were confronted during the incident were forthcoming with information on where it came from, of course...

The death of Donovan Zane is all over the news. You can't really escape it. Everyone's talking about it. The proponents of mutant registration, anti-mutant hate groups, and even just those cautiously leaning towards the MRA have all propped him up as a symbol of why things need to change. His death has swayed the political environment of the United States towards registration, heavily, and it would seem not even the president will be able to stop it should it come to an issue of law once more.
