Character Name: Soren

Canon: Fire Emblem 9 & 10

Brief Personality: Soren is cold, bitter, high-strung and anti-social. He is not exactly shy, however, about sharing his opinion when he feels like it, and his opinions are generally cynical and blunt to the point of rudeness. He doesn't want to be anyone's friend, but at the same time he doesn't actually know how to be a friend, so take that as you will. Although still pretty uncomfortable with the physical aspect of his mutations, he is nevertheless very dedicated to his studies and is quite intelligent. He likes reading, parkour and games of strategy, whether they're chess or something like Starcraft.

Brief AU History: Soren was raised in succession by a woman who resented his existence, then a man who really just wanted him to use as a tool, and then he spent a few years living on the streets before being taken in by a church and its attached parochial school. It was the best life he ever knew (and the place where he finally got a name), but then he developed his mutations and that all went to hell - especially since in addition to air manipulation, he also sprouted a pair of small dragon wings.

He spent another several years living on the streets, doing whatever he could to survive until recruited by someone from the school a bit less than a year ago. And now he's here, struggling to catch up on schooling. Math and physics come easily to him, but he is otherwise various stages of behind in other subjects. Even though he doesn't have to hide his wings here, he still tends to except maybe during any sort of training classes. Outside of those, he usually wears a coat or a baggie hoodie or something to help cover up the awkward lumps where he keeps them folded tight against his back.

Joined School: Slightly less than a year ago. Probably about 10 months.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas:
+ Soren needs a friend. Badly. Someone who can put up with him being a tactless asshole and is willing to put in the work of cracking his shell. This'd be a long term thing.
+ but a chess partner / someone to play games against would also be cool
+ he manipulates air. someone should totally make him get involved in music stuff
+ on that note, he has wings that he more or less avoids using. they're not grown in enough to be useful for flying yet and probably won't be for another few years (longer if he doesn't actually exercise them).

+ all that said, I am a-ok with him having negative CR. lord knows he can be quite insulting at times. So conversely, if anyone wants rivalries or someone determined not to get along and play nice, here he is! /o/ that said, he doesn't deliberately cause trouble. He doesn't wanna be kicked out or get in trouble for misbehavior and is actually secretly scared that this may happen. . . . that doesn't stop him from being an asshole at times, though.

+ man, come at me bro. I am open to just about anything.

Is it okay to make Test Drive threads game canon?: I didn't post on the test drive. ^^;

Soren is probably behind in Biology, but he is determined to get caught up so maybe he comes to ask questions about homework. Or - Takakage teaches math too, doesn't he? Or just biology? I forget.

Biology and chemistry! and if Soren is smart enough/interested in medicine there will also be advance classes.

I'm not sure if he'll really be interested in medicine, though. Actually, he's not really sure what he's interested in yet so much as just learning more... so I guess we can see. c:

I'd really love to get CR with other characters who have obvious physical mutations! Though Leo's is of course not quite as hidable as Soren's. Leo's actually also in the situation of "kind of behind in weird places because of no formal education," so that could also be a thing - Leo's not an aggressive I WILL BEFRIEND YOU type, but he can be pretty patient, so maybe they can get somewhere.

Being patient is really the main qualification, honestly. But no that sounds awesome! Maybe they'll be in a remedial class together or wind up working on some project together or something? And Soren will actually be a bit less bitter towards Leo simply because of that physical mutation thing (no envy there) and because Leo is sensible. So I think they have a chance!

/o/ how do you want to bring this about? Wait until their first passing/mingling encounter, or have Soren be a student? Remilia currently teaches Economics, Intermediate French, and flying, though I doubt he'd be in the latter given his blurb.

Hmm. I'm not sure if Soren would be in Economics or French yet, given that he's still playing catch up with a lot of school work. :|a And while eventually once he got over his hang ups, he could be coaxed into flying lessons, right now not so much. So probably passing/mingling encounter would be best? The school is big but it isn't that big.
