THE TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello, True Believers!
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

Kyouko Kasodani / Touhou Project
-It's early. Obscenely early. The sun hasn't even come out yet. But it's time for a wake-up call, courtesy of the local maestro Kyouko.-
GOOOOOOOOD MOOOOORNING XAVIEEEER'S!!! Get your happy butts out of bed, classes start in an hour and I am pretty sure the school would appreciate it if more of you took some time for personal grooming in the morning.
ANYWAYS you don't have to be alone this morning while your roommate hammers fruitlessly at the snooze button to shut me up. The Kyouko the Echo YamaBIko is here to brighten up the start of your day with a little noise! I'll be taking callers all morning, but for now, let's get right too it with some Rancid, Roots Radicals!
-Normally it would be prudent for a radio DJ to make use of a compressor. Kyouko doesn't give that much of a shit. And thus the song is coming in a little extra loud. In case you were still asleep.-
[Action - Courtyard]
Kyouko sits alone with her guitar and amp, strumming out a little tune, her fingers moving deftly and her ears showing visible vibrations as they mimicked the sound of a rhythm section backing her up. This was not an uncommon sight since Kyouko came to the school. Music was, after all, her entire world. It had been fostered by the folks at the temple (though not the loudness she was fond of) and she now had access to the sort of training to take her music, and her powers, to a level well beyond what she could reach on her own. So that meant practicing every single day, every opportunity she could.
She wasn't here to learn to be a fighter or hero or anything like that. She still carried Hijiri's pacifistic teachings with her. No, for her, the expression of her soul, of her joy and sorrow, of her love and anger, was through music. The mutant condition, she wanted to capture it in sound. And hopefully, she could find some people that were of a like mind. Solo acts were great and all... but what Kyouko had come to really love was the camaraderie of the Temple. She wanted to find that again in a band.

Speaking of, seems we've got a few non-morning types assaulting their machines. Irresponsible, I say...

Or at least get her headphones on and properly situated. Maybe she would have to sleep with them on here....]
Kyouko, may I offer a suggestion?

Once the song was over, he flops on the grass next to her, and holds his hand out for shaking. "Hi, sorry if I busted into your jam. I'm Ryuuichi."

Now, a school for mutants, that was something cool.
"The other guys in the band had formal lessons, I just sort of went along for the ride. Have you gotten any formal training?"

"Oh wow! That's awesome!" Sooooo cooooool. "Um, no, I mean, I play everything by ear. Kind of not a metaphor either," she gestured to her almost doglike ears that had been producing the sound of the rhythm tracks for the song she'd been playing earlier. "There's an old Japanese legend about a kind of creature called a Yamabiko, that controlled echoes in the mountains. I'm guessing they might have been mutants, because I kinda look like one and that's basically what I do."
