THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

[Miko stood confidently in front of her camera, it was obvious she had placed it in just the right spot to show her full form from an impressive angle. She was also wearing a cape. Why was she wearing a cape? She thought it looked cool! Other than that? No real reason.]

Behold this wonderful item I discovered abandoned in an unused storage cupboard. Far too much a waste if you ask me, so I liberated it to the world of light and sound of which it had been denied!

Doesn't it add to an impressive figure? I dare say it is quite catching. I think I'm going to wear it all day and every day now!

[Action - Library.]

[Despite not needing to study particularly hard for her classes, Miko could still be found studying in the library. A few books to her side and a notebook with her homework filled out within. If anyone looked closer they would see it had already been completed, and by the titles of the books around her potentially for a while. Yet still she seemed to be studying still, topics no senior in high school should be worrying about yet.]

[Every time Miko looks up, that green kid from across the library seems to have moved one table closer. It takes about 45 minutes before he reaches her table and starts stealthily moving over one chair at a time, seemingly engrossed in his own homework all the while.

It's only when he's right beside her that his motivation becomes apparent. He's trying to peek at her homework!]

[To Miko it was apparent from the start, she simply didn't say anything to see just how far he would go. Though his desires were loud and clear to her, hearing such things was but a simple matter for her considering her ability. She did wait for him to get close and try
though, you always have to let that sort of person try before saying anything.]

It would be better to ask for help than to cheat.

[She didn't even look up from her book when she spoke. A few moments later she placed a book mark to indicate her page and set it down to turn her attention towards the intruder.]

[Busted! And he thought he was doing so well, too. He always tried to move when she was looking away, and used his quietest animal forms. His ears droop to match his mood.]

X-Ray vision? Invisible psychic tattletale? Mind reading? Supersenses? How'd you know!

[He might just not be as sneaky as he thinks he is? Unthinkable.]

I could have heard you and your desires from a mile away without even trying.

[Super senses that went to ridiculous levels.]

But I am not against helping you if you need it.

Really? You're not gonna tell on me?

[That does a lot to perk him up.]

I stayed up all night doing this cool sculpture for art, but I totally forgot this was due today! I'm so dead if I can't get it done, then Dr Kobayakawa is gonna kill me again when he hears about it! The sculpture came out sweeeet, but this stuff?

[He indicates his paper, which has more doodles on it than work, and only half of that looks right.]

Not so much.

I won't go into your... abilities at the moment, but maybe time management is your biggest issue?

[He stares down at his paper. His abilities? What was that supposed to mean!]

Then time management will be our first focus. Did you get an agenda? If not we can use your phone at the very least.

[At this she pulled out her own phone, only the best most technologically advanced phone money could buy. In fact, money couldn't even buy this yet, this thing was due to come out in 6 months.]

[He's already retrieving his much less impressive phone from a pocket in his suit's belt when he sees hers.]

Where'd you get a phone like that? Can I see?

Where? Oh, just some family connections.

[She chuckled slightly as if it meant nothing. It really wasn't much compared to other things she could obtain with effort.]

You may look, but you can't touch.

Family connections to what, the future?

[Respecting her wishes is almost harder than the homework he's already forgetting, but he keeps his hands to himself. This thing probably zaps you if you touch it without permission, or pumps you full of killer nanobots.]

Oh just a few companies here and there. It's always good business to fund research and development. And since I contributed to the design, it is only fair that I am allowed an advanced copy.

[Somehow her tone wasn't stuck up, but she was definitely ego tripping a little. Perhaps it helped that she took this for granted.]

[As someone who has his share of much less deserved ego trips, Beast Boy is willing to let it slide.]

Are you some kind of billionaire genius, or what?

Genius... I suppose that is an accurate description. Definitely a prodigy. Have you not heard of the Toyosatomimi group? We have connections to just about everything in Japan, and the international community where it matters.

[She wasn't shy to state her status, but at the same time she only spoke of it as an explanation. She was proud of who she was of course, and she was definitely proud of being special and talented, but these were simply more facts about her, and nothing more. But she was definitely eating up Beast Boy's attention and loving it.]

She has to look it up before she responds. Because yes, even Miko is potentially forgettable to Sakuya.

So have a counselor! One who is looking over student files even as she addresses the younger woman.]

Are you trying out for one of the X-Men teams? The cape adds... A sense of style... But it seems too easy to get caught on things.

I actually hadn't put much thought into that. I'm more the type to tell a team what to do than to go off and fight in one.

[Not that she couldn't fight, but her abilities didn't really lend well to combat exactly. Better to let the people with lasers and fire do the work while she just told them what to do where.]

And considering that, all the better for a cape wouldn't you say? It strikes a very nice image of one in charge.
