THE TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello, True Believers!
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

[But he's calmed down enough to remember something he'd been meaning to say about it, before dicks got involved and he got embarrassed.]
A-Anyway! I'm so sure I'll be, like, way sorry I didn't give up superheroing to get in on that hot buzzkill action.
[Look, everyone needs a little contraband and sneaking around now and then! It's good for the youth!]
no subject
Yeah, you're a real hotshot, huh?
People like us are just--funny, I guess? It's all right, go ahead and laugh! Be sure to look down and wave at us little guys now and then.
[He laughs again. Hey, he's just doing his job here. Don't mistake him for somebody who actually cares.]
no subject
Don't be sad, little guy, we can't all be unbelievably bitchin'!

I don't mind, I'm happy to do my job and protect the kids for Old Man X. He's done a lot for me, you know. And we sure are lucky to have cool guys like you protecting us!
It's pretty weird, though, I thought we weren't supposed to think some mutants were better than others? Like, we're all brothers or something? Nah, but that's probably not right. The world doesn't work that way.
no subject
Wow, easy there. Like, I know the old man can read minds and all, but he's not about to start any thought police, right?
Anyway, like, equality and brotherhood don't mean some people aren't still cooler than others.

[That term is not in Adachi's vocabulary. He blinks.]
I mean it. What kind of idiot would believe that? Some people are expendable. They're not worth anything. Even if these Brotherhood guys took over, for all that they talk about mutant unity, you know as soon as they could, it would be the powerful ones in charge, and the others would be shit out of luck.
Oh, there's definitely cooler people! I mean, not you, but once I met a really cool mutant, with great powers and great ideas. They did such amazing things, but then they disappeared... I wonder where they went. Magneto has a pretty cool power, too.

[See, those kinds of phrases are a bit of a red flag to Feliks, who sits up a little straighter, fidgeting with the pen in his hands.]
[Luckily for Adachi, he says something else that distracts Feliks from his intense and immediate discomfort. I mean, not you, but.]
Excuse you? At least I'm not wasting my powers on boring crap like busting kids for going out at night.
[Feliks Łukasiewicz: Mature Adult.]
no subject
Hey, hey, don't worry. You just said not everybody can be bitching. No big deal!
I didn't say I was cool, but I know you're not.
[The number of people Adachi has busted is impressively low, but he shrugs.]
It's a job, you know? What can I say, I care about keeping kids safe!
no subject
[Feliks huffs. Who would believe this guy about "cool," anyway?!]
And which is it? You ~care so much~, or it's just a job?
no subject
[This guy is boring him, seriously.]
Hmm?
[Adachi blinks, as if he has no idea what Feliks is talking about.]
Well, it's both. I don't bust kids because I like it. It's not like I want to say, hey kids, you can't have any fun. It's because it's my job! You know kids could get killed out there, because they're like us. That's why Old Man X made the rules! I just follow the rules. You don't like them, take them up with the old man.
[This is true. Because "Old Man X" knows all about him. And he was forced into community service! But most people don't know that.]
no subject
Anyway, you're kinda boring me, so I'm out.

This school is full of idiots, but it's all right.
Life's a lot easier when you don't give a shit!]
