THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

The Institute was rather hard to maneuver during your first days, and Zian found that the map he had gotten was definitely not leading him int the right direction. (The fact that he wasn't that good at reading maps, aside.) Stopping for a moment, he rubs the back of his head a bit in mild frustration. The supplies he was looking for was probably in a completely different wing! God, what if this was the women's dorm and he was scaring the poor girls like some giant purple pervert?

...the sound of someone moving around in the nearby room made the medic stop fretting and decide that he should just ask for directions. Carefully opening the door just a bit and sticking his head in to not interrupt any class or whatever was going on, he watches Auron's kata with wide eyes.

"Cool."

Auron acknowledged there was someone watching but kept going with the kata until he was done, letting the heavy bokken rest on the floor with a low 'thump' as he turned to look over at Zian. "... Glad you think so. Are you here for the kendo class?"

Zian watched curiously as Auron finished the kata, keeping quiet until the man was done. No need to bother people too much, after all.

"Huh? Oh, no. I'm not a student, I'm just lost," he admits, a little bit embarrassed. "I was looking for the medical storage and ended up here."

He pauses for a moment, and then holds out his large hand. "Zian Mardovich. School nurse."

Auron smiled ever so slightly at that and took the offered hand in his gloved one, giving it a firm shake. "Auron. Battle tactics professor."

Thinking on it a moment, he added, "If you need help finding the storage, I can show you." After all, he had the time and it never hurt to help the younger people around him.

Now that he was closer, it was more apparent that the purple man was not actually speaking; instead the somewhat robotic voice came from his mask, translating the quick ASL that he had been previously hiding behind the door. "Nice to meet you.... and yeah, some directions would be great."

It was awkward to not find his way around the school, but it would be even more so if he never actually found the damn storage.

An interesting device. Auron wasn't one to stare though, so he simply took one look at the mask before leading the way away from the practice room, sword slung over his back. "You can't have been here long if you're still lost. When did you arrive?"

"Just a few days ago," the medic admits, rubbing the back of his neck. "I've mostly been in the infirmary and my room, and I seem to be shit at maps." Honestly this place was too huge for its own good.

He'd been in the sewers with the morlocks. That was easier to navigate.
