Return of the Weekly Update - Oct12th to 0ct18th

OOC
Reserves expired on the 11th, however the Test Drive meme is still running!

Applications will be closing on the 15th!

NEW CHARACTERS! Please be sure your character is on the Directory and Taken lists, as well as on the housing list if you are playing a student!

The AU CR Meme is still up and running, so be sure to post to it, whether you're brand new or already in the game!

SCHOOL NEWS
Reimu is looking for potential recruits to his X-Team!

Amelia is interested in everyone's costume plans.

Kanji commiserates with the rest of the school on the ever present issues of parents and boarding schools. Of course it doesn't help we're all mutants, either.

Seniors! Palutena has a proposal for a study group!

And, of course, an open Newsreel Mingle for everyone to get caught up on the plot with!

GOSSIP TIME! Post your rumors for the week!

AROUND THE WORLD
National Coming Out Day came and went, but you're still allowed to backdate posts for it if you want to!

Political tension in the US over the Mutant Registration Act is feverish. It is THE issue leading to the mid-term elections. And even with the president saying he will veto a bill that goes across his desk, the proponents have made it their goal to make the MRA into law, one way or another, no matter what. At their lead is Senator Graydon Creed, a former community leader, ex-campaign manager of Kelly's, and a man with previous connections to anti-mutant hate group Friends of Humanity.

You can't even check out at the grocery store without seeing Dazzler's face everywhere. No other celebrities are coming out as mutant, given the massive increase in press on her is considered more a burden than a blessing.

October 17th is Wear Something Gaudy Day. One could easily argue most superhero tights are gaudy by default...

The mystery of the U-Men is getting deeper. Expect a major development sometime this week.

1. Hey, wouldn't you think this place would be the perfect target for those U-Men? All these young, healthy mutants all in one spot. It seems so obvious! They'd just need someone with the right kind of power... Maybe they're setting up something already. Maybe they're already here. If the government gave a shit about us, they'd probably be giving us some protection right about now.

2. I know for sure that this place is haunted. For one thing, with all the people who've died here, at least one had to have powers that let them stick around as a ghost? There's definitely one up on the second floor in the faculty quarters, but I don't know exactly which one. I heard if you go in that room and look in the mirror in the dark, you see the ghost over your shoulder. Too bad you can't get up there without a pass...
