THE TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello, True Believers!
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

Once she's sure Gilberte will follow, she lets go, trotting back to where she had been seated and snatching up her sketchbook. She spins her pencil in her hand as she starts to talk.]
Teach told me I need to get good at anatomy before I can change it when I draw. [Which is fine with her, really. She's an anatomy enthusiast! Still, she seems sheepish as she rubs the eraser end of her pencil in her hair.] Thing is, though, I kinda need a model to draw from? Uh, not that I'm asking you take your clothes off or anything, but maybe just...roll up your sleeves and let me look at your arms?
[There should probably be a "thank you" in there somewhere, or possibly an introduction, but Ryuuna is caught up in her artistic mission and basic manners haven't occurred to her.]

[Gilberte does tend to allow much of the French to stay in—but some of it is forgetfulness and some is artifice, and no one knows for sure.
She nods, and replies with a complete lack of hesitation or modesty.]
I will take my clothes off, if you would like, if it is in the service of art!
[Why would anyone be shy about modeling for an artist? Or shy at all?]

[But she assumes it's an accurate statement! Gilberte seems sure of it, at any rate. Ryuuna flips her sketchbook open to a random page, which by chance happens to be blank. (It's not a very well-organized sketchbook.)]
Would you? Man, most people get so uptight about that kind of thing. [It's not a request so much as an expression of surprise. It's almost like a stranger asking you to take your clothes off is kind of invasive!] Hm, but maybe just the—cloak?
[This chick's dressed kind of weird, now that she thinks about it. It's actually kind of...cool.]

[She really does have faith in people! They can create, or become, such beautiful things.]
Most people allow their inhibitions to inhibit their passion!
[Gilberte says this as if it is a very grave problem. Nonetheless, she nods, removing her cloak, the muscular shape of her arms becoming more apparent. She usually dresses in elaborate robes, unless she has some reason to dress in another costume. The robes have the effect of making her appear even bigger. She likes to take up space.]

[She keeps smiling, and maybe with more cheer than normal. They really seem like they're on the same wavelength! It's a nice surprise.]
Mm... I think I like watching other people more than doing the acting myself, though.
[She taps her pencil against her lower lip, taking a second to look Gilberte over now that she isn't so covered up.]
...Huh. You work out or something?

[Gilberte returns the smile, pleased as well. She's enjoying herself. Well, she loves art, and this girl already seems so intelligent, so fascinating. She does love artists, and talented people.]
Watching people, yes. I enjoy that also. People are always so interesting, so much potential... Who knows what they might become?
[That statement could be quite normal, taken at face value.]
No, this is a part of my mutation! Once I was... much smaller.
[She shapes the air with her hands, tracing a girl-shape much more within the realm of normalcy, not tiny, but not giant, either.]
As I am a knight, it is only fitting! That I should be strong in body as well as in mind.

[Yes, this is a completely normal conversation, nothing strange here!
Gilberte mimes that shape, Ryuuna sits up a little straighter, leaning forward in her seat.]
Woah, really? That's so cool! I'm kinda jealous, actually... [Because there are absolutely no downsides to visible mutations, right? Really, Ryuuna is just as fascinated by mutant bodies as she is plain old human ones, and she's always been a little disappointed that her mutation doesn't involve anything cool, like sprouting spikes from her skin or something.] Now I definitely wanna draw you! Ah, but— A pose, a pose...
[She needs a pose to draw her super cool new friend in!]

[Of course, it would take another artist to understand!]
Yes, vraiment. My power is to make things more beautiful.
[NO, IT ISN'T.]
But you need not be jealous, you are beautiful already!
[She agrees that there is no downside to visible mutations, and she loves looking different. She wouldn't want to look normal! Not that she thinks Ryuuna does. She waits patiently on the artist's decision. She does tend to be a drama queen and attempt to take over in drama club, but she respects the work of other artists in their own space.]

[She rubs the back of her neck, her smile turning faintly sheepish. She does pay a lot of attention to her appearance, so she typically takes compliments in stride, but this one is different.]
Now I'm really jealous, though. [Though the statement sounds entirely good-natured. She lifts the hand that hasn't been fidgeting with her pencil and flexes her fingers.] All I can do is patch people back together. Real boring, you know?
Anyway— Let's get something that shows off those lovely arms of yours! [Ryuuna taps her pencil against her lip again, then traces a circle in the air with its tip.] Turn around a little, hm?

[She actually compliments a lot of people, because she finds people very interesting, for—various reasons, but she means it sincerely in Ryuuna's case.]
Boring? Not so, not so at all. To shift and steer the body—perhaps you could "patch them up" better than before! I can do such a thing, perhaps, but—ah, c'est interdit! [She puts a finger to her lips, as if she is telling Ryuuna a secret.]
Hmm, yes! Let me see! [Gilberte obeys, perfectly pliable and willing to shift to suit. She whirls in place, spreading her arms wide.]

[Apparently satisfied with what she sees, Ryuuna gives the order to halt. Behind Gilberte, there's the sound of the chair's legs scraping against the floor, so presumably she's scooting herself into whatever angle she wants to draw from.]
Yeah, I guess it's not all bad... [But that's not something she can talk about with someone she's just met! Even if she does seem like her kind of person.] What do you do, exactly?

To patch is to change. So, if you are an artist, you can be creative!
As I said, I make things more beautiful. I make them different. A little twist, and that suffices. I change them from the inside out.
