THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

It is unlikely your village will be slaughtered. I mean to say that if you are playing a role, such as Villager B, remember how you've suffered and worked hard, and you will know how Villager B has suffered. You will know how he acts, because you feel his pain. Most likely he will die, this Villager B.

[She reaches out to touch Sam, to raise his chin, but as soon as she does, she's no longer towering over him. She's still taller, but everything about her is suddenly much less monstrous and more normal. She doesn't seem to mind, however, letting out a laugh.]

Ah, what a dangerous gift you have, mon petit...

[She's one to talk.]

[ As her appearance changes he starts a little, confused--but he makes a quick understanding when she speaks and Sam ducks his chin away and pulls back with a very sheepish expression. She might not look upset but he's pretty sure his gift is just about what she's called it for most mutants. ]

S...sorry--I don't know how to stop it. It just happens.

You do not need to say you are sorry! I am an artist, I enjoy difference... To me, the combat is not what is important. I must look like I did when I was young!

[She's talking as if she isn't still a 16 year old. And she looks it, while she's touching him. Which she keeps doing, because it's fun, and she has no sense that it's impolite.]

Poor Villager B! So many mutants would see him as a threat. But not Gilberte.

[ When she was young...? She hadn't looked that old before she'd touched him. Or...kept touching him, he supposes. It's a bit strange to have someone actually hold onto him like this and Sam can already feel his face warm a little.

He doesn't usually have girls all over his face and stuff. ]

You're not...upset?

[Of course, when she was young, before the great tragedy occurred! When her heart was light and joy was yet possible!]

Upset? Why would I be? We are all the same. We were all given a great gift.

[She leans in closer, to kiss him on the cheek. As she's French, this is all very normal, of course! She whispers into his ear.]

And your gift does not infringe on mine.

[ French and normal or not, Sam is very suddenly forfeiting his role as Villager B to become A Tomato instead as he gapes up at Gilberte and struggles for words.

Th...that was a k...a k-kiss just now!! A real kiss! On the cheek, but still. Wao. ]

U...u-uhhhhhh.....

[Gilberte draws back, laughing at his blushing, all smiles.]

What a pretty boy! You will be an asset to the drama club, Villager B!

[That's right, he's an official member, and his name is also Villager B.]

[ Now is this a promotion or a demotion, that is the question. ]

W-wait...what?? I will?? [ He didn't even say he wanted to join yet!! ]

Indeed, mon petit!

[She draws back, reverting to her larger, more unusual form.]

I have accepted your audition! It will be grueling and demanding, but for the greatness of art, for beauty! You have undertaken a great task.

[ This must be what it's like watching Bruce Banner transform... ]

Eh?! I'm in??? [ That was an audition??????? ]
