THE TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello, True Believers!
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

"I see." He pauses here, opening a cupboard and looking through it briefly. "And nothing seems palatable enough for now?"
It's not an accusation, more of a question. For someone so stricken with morning sickness, he might have to formulate something special...

At least she was smart enough to not actually go suck a paintbrush.
"I think I can have tea. But that only is no good."
no subject
"Mm." He makes a faint sound of affirmation. At least she could still function without severe nausea crippling her sense. As a doctor he had mostly worked in the surgical departments, but his education did cover some aspects of gynaecology.
"Miss Myra, I presume?" Takakage turns around from inspecting the cupboard, managing to extract a tea bag with some ginger infusion inside. "I am Doctor Kobayakawa. Professor Xavier has told me about you - I will be looking after you while you are here."
There is a pause.
"By the by, have you tried ginger today?"
It's a popular folk remedy, in any case. It might be worth a try.

"I am so much pleased to meet you, doctor Kobayakawa." A bit awkward to meet him while trying to raid the fridge in the middle of the night, but still.
She watches him look around the cupboard and then grab a tea bag. When asked about ginger, she perks up just a bit, smiling again. Why didn't she think of that?`"Ah, yes! Maybe that work!"

With a flick of his wrist he draws a clear orb of water from the flask, depositing it into the cup along with the tea bag. He sets the cup down on the table between them, slightly closer to her. The smell of ginger soon fills the kitchen - hopefully it would work.
"How have you been, settling in and all?"
no subject
The golden-freckled woman looks a bit nervous for a moment, fearing that the scent would make her nauseous again... but it seemed to work. It was actually a bit soothing, even. Reaching, she carefully pulls the cup closer, folding her hands around it.
"It is very different. I was scared first, but everyone became very nice. They say this is a safe building for gods... mutants. I want baby to be safe, and I want to learn. Go to school."
no subject
He watches Myra's reaction intently, relieved to see that it had no adverse effects.
"Yes. The Institute is indeed a safe haven for us." Mostly. Excepting Sublime's attack the month before, but that had been successfully repelled with few casualties. "I teach here, too. I am sure you will be able to learn many things here."
From what he knows of her profile, she had not been exposed to a proper education. There are many things she'd have missed - but that is easily remedied, of course.
no subject
"I am very glad." She'd probably be a bit panicked if she heard of that attack, honestly. She'd be on the first plane back to Mumbai and just deal with people being very angry at her for not actually being a goddess.
"You teach? Medicine?"
last tag before i head to bed!
"I have not checked the class list yet, but even if you are not in my class, please do not hesitate to ask me if you have any questions."
Helpful as ever.
Night night!
"You're very kind, doctor." She sighs softly, closing her golden eyes for a moment. Tired and hungry wasn't a great combination. "I believe I told to ask a doctor for vita... vitamins."
no subject
Ah, yes, vitamins. "That can be arranged, yes." He'll need to profile her and work on that nutritional regime. "It is a bit too late for it now, but I will need to give you a check-up in the next few days."
no subject
Culture shock, language struggling and trying to make up for having been a living goddess for several years.
"Check would be good, yes. It has been long time now, but they say I am good. Strong. Baby, too. Others can feel kicks, now." She might have felt it for some time, but now other people could as well. At least the kid wasn't kicking her in the bladder yet. All in all, she had gone through surprisingly healthy trimesters for a 17-year-old girl.
If you don't count this horrible nausea.
OH MY GOD I THOUGHT I REPLIED TO THIS ALREADY IM' SO SORRY
More plans and things to chart. At least she would be easier to monitor than the zombie girl a few months back. He's still a little worried about how Miyako was doing, but that can't be changed now. Myra seems to be doing well, from what he can tell.
"Perhaps tomorrow or the day after will do." But before that... "Are you tired, Myra? I can fix something up for you before you go to bed."
