THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

[ Where others might be upset, or scared, or honestly just imagine it's someone with a mutant power, Azusa is a little different. She studies the pen, moving her head with it as it moves. ]

Ah! The spirit can even communicate with the living! Tell me spirit, what is your name?!

[Usually it freaks people out. It's always nice to see a different reaction, though. Scaring people does get boring after a while. While Yuuko's tempted to just become visible, she plays along for a bit longer.]

Yuuko

Oh great Yuuko-sama, tell me what this one can do for you, to help you cross over to the other side! Was there something left undone in your life that you need fixed?

[ She talks to the ether like it's no big deal, like a practiced ghost talker. Maybe she's just talked a lot to nonexistent people in her room a lot. ]

[Well, this girl is certainly...interesting. Yuuko can have some fun with this.]

Bring me

[There's a dramatic pause before she finishes the sentence.]

a soda

...A soda?

[ Ghosts, as far as Azusa is concerned, don't usually ask for soda. But then again, who is she to judge someone else's preference? ]

Okay! [ And so she starts to run off, then turns back to the pen/Ghost, her eyebrows knitted. ]

Wait a second..... what kind do you want?

[Well, this 'ghost' does! She could've asked for tea or something, but Americans prefer soda. So it's more likely she can get that.

Oh. She wasn't expecting that question. Give her a second to try and think of all the kinds of soda there are.]

Orange

[It's as good a choice as any! Anyways, she's gonna drop that pen and follow Azusa.]

Orange it is!

[ Azusa ignores the dropping of the pen and hurries to the machine, swiping her card in it and getting an orange soda for the ghost. She starts to hand it over before realizing... ]

Oh right! You probably need me to open it right?

[ So she twists off the cap and hands over the bottle to.... no one? ]

[Yuuko ~~haunts~~ follows Azusa to the machine. While she didn't need anyone to open the bottle for her, she appreciates the gesture. She could say as much, but while invisible, no one else seems to be able to hear her, so there isn't much point speaking.

...but it means she can giggle without being heard. Anyway, she takes the soda by the neck of the bottle so as to avoid actually touching the other girl. However, she raises the bottle and suddenly becomes visible.]

[Don't mind her as she starts drinking.]

Wait a minute! You're not a ghost at all are you!

[ Seeing a girl appear and drink the bottle finally brings Azusa to her senses. This girl looks like another student here, and is definitely not a ghost at all! ]

...Unless you just look like a student because you were killed here!

Do you want me to say 'boo'? I can do that.

[She's serious about that. She loves playing up the whole ghost thing.]

It's a mystery!

Hmmm...

[ Azusa is just going to walk a little around the other girl, before finally whipping out her cellphone and taking a quick picture. ]

You still show up in photos.

[Yuuko is plenty quick too, striking a pose for the picture. Why not?]

Don't most ghosts?

I guess that's more of a vampire thing not to appear in a photo.

I'm going to have to do a lot of reasearch on you now, you know. I take the supernatural very seriously!

[She doesn't really know, but she'll go with it.]

Oh? Are you going to follow me all around or something?

Of course! It's only natural as a reporter and a follower of the occult, spiritual, and mystical arts that I learn as much as possible!

Are there any other ghosts or anything like that here?

There's a lot of ghost stories, but some of them are just made up to scare people.

[ Like the one she started herself. ]

And how many of them do you think are real?

Um...maybe 40%? Or 50%?

[ She's delusional. ]
