So we're supposed to wait until they start killing innocent people?

[Eren makes what can only be described as an incredulous noise.]

Yeah... What I realize is that we have to take drastic measures. The government doesn't do enough, and the police are a joke.
mouflon: (penetrate her flowery gate.)

[personal profile] mouflon 2014-11-09 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
[She hums and touches a hand to her cheek, considering.]

Oh, I'm sure they'll justify some arrests before that. "Crushing" them has a whole different connotation, though.

[What she does not comment on: the subject of killing innocent people.

When he talks about needing to take drastic measures, though, Rin smiles. She has gathered that they're talking about different things entirely, but it's more fun to act like she's agreeing with something he's said.]

Exactly. That's why spraypaint and slogans about liberation aren't enough. We'll never have real equality until we destroy the current system and rebuild it from the bottom up.

They should be arrested. But if I said crushing them, then I meant crushing them.

[Eren frowns. He really doesn't like this conversation. It's making him angry.

Though lots of things make him angry.
]

That's not what I meant at all! I don't want society to be destroyed. I want to protect it from the monsters who are trying to bring it down!
mouflon: (A heated masturbation.)

[personal profile] mouflon 2014-11-09 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Yes, well, she doesn't like talk about killing innocent political agitators. It hits a sore spot. So, they're even!

Rather than let him see that, though, she just smiles wider.]

If you want to protect the monsters that have built their empires on top of other people's suffering, you're welcome to do so. But you know that's not going to make them hate you any less than the rest of us, don't you?
garganteren: (26)

[personal profile] garganteren 2014-11-09 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
[They're not innocent, they're dangerous! Well, anyway, Eren misses any subtleties, as usual.]

I'm talking about ordinary human beings! Mutants are the monsters, not them. They're just trying to protect themselves and their way of life.

And of course they hate me! I'm a danger to them! I understand how they feel. I'm not trying to—make them like me.

[Even though he feels really bad about it.]
mouflon: (My penis convulses)

[personal profile] mouflon 2014-11-09 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? I figured you were hoping to weasel your way into their regime, but... I guess you're just an idiot. [She shrugs, like it's nothing of real concern to her.] Got it.

[Abruptly, though, she stops smiling.]

"Mutants are the monsters"? Give me a break. I don't know what you think a monster is, but if you ask me, it's the vampires who profit from making sure mutants don't have the same rights as they do.
garganteren: (12)

[personal profile] garganteren 2014-11-09 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not an idiot, I don't want to see anyone hurt!

[There's a contradiction somewhere in there...]

Yeah, they are. They're the ones who can murder people with their minds and bend the laws of nature. They're too dangerous to be around people. And no, ordinary humans are not vampires. They don't profit off it! What they have is the right to be safe, to live their lives in peace.
mouflon: (reflecting light like something)

[personal profile] mouflon 2014-11-09 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
And we don't? Unless their way of life involves forcing people onto the street and starving them out, the only thing they're protecting is the status quo.

[And if it does, then maybe it deserves to be threatened.]

If they don't profit, they're complicit, and I have less than no respect for anyone who's too comfortable to buck the system.
garganteren: (26)

[personal profile] garganteren 2014-11-09 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
No, their way of life involves not being killed by freaks with too much power! Power corrupts people like that, it corrodes their morals. And they're not safe to be around.

Mutants aren't being starved in the United States of America! If anything, we're too easy on them.

I'm not comfortable at all! We have to fight, to fight endlessly for what we believe in! And the system's not great, and I'll fight against it, too, but when you say get rid of it, what you're talking about is getting rid of human beings!

I've done my research. Mutants aren't a protected class in America, which means they can be denied housing and jobs. Where do you think they're going to get food without having the money to buy it?

[Rin feels strongly about about seeing mutants denied things like food and medical access, okay.]

That's funny, though. I don't want to be killed by "freaks with too much power," either.

[But she means political power, naturally.

When Eren slings that accusation that way, she sighs, more exasperated than offended.]

Projecting much? All I want is a world with humans and mutants on equal footing. If you think that means a world where humans have been wiped out, or where mutants are the ruling class, you're wrong. It's not like I wish harm on innocent children just because they're human.

[Though it would be a lie to say her brand of political activism has never led to the harm of a child.]

I never said anything about killing law-abiding mutants or making it so they can't eat. In Canada and UK they have lists, and they treat their mutants fine. They're not all dying and starving like you extremists say.

[Wait, who's the extremist here?]

So you're wrong about what's going to happen.

Yeah, right. Because those kids are going to grow up into adult humans, and then they'll just be second class citizens to you.
mouflon: art by pixiv id=17968 (wet with foaming love juice)

[personal profile] mouflon 2014-11-10 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[Both of them. They're both the extremists.]

"What's going to happen"? It already does. Maybe if you opened your eyes for a few minutes, you'd notice.

[Not to mention, she isn't solely concerned with America, nor is she willing to take for granted that it's somehow impervious to the pitfalls she's seen abroad.]

Um, hello? I just said that's the opposite of what I want. I want a world without second class citizens, not different ones.

You know what I mean. I mean the list's not going to cause some huge problem like you're saying. The only real problem's going to be from mutants who don't want to follow the law!

[Eren's not only concerned with America either, but he considers himself A PATRIOT. Of course he supports the Friends of Humanity in other countries!]

If you want a world where everyone's equal, there have to be laws! We need to protect humans!
mouflon: (reflecting light like something)

[personal profile] mouflon 2014-11-12 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
If mutants aren't following the law, it's because the law is being used as a cudgel against them. Ever heard of something called "civil disobedience"? If you're so worried about "protecting" humans [—could those air quotes sound any harsher?—] then you should see to it that the laws you're so desperate to put on the books are fair. As it is, the only thing people like you are breeding is a civil war. When it happens, the blood will be on your hands.

[This probably isn't a good time or place to start making ominous comments about civil wars, but Rin also sees that outcome as inevitable and even good, and she isn't the kind of person to hold her tongue.]

And for your information, it already is some huge problem. We get thrown onto the streets, beaten and abused for what we are, and then doctors won't treat us because our biology is too different, even while the medical community continues to spend all its time and resources on human problems instead of fixing that. When's the law going to do something about that, or is the ruling class the only one that needs protection?
