THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

By this point, Kagerou had mostly stopped sneaking out at night to sleep in the hedgemaze... except on full moon nights when she was in her full wolfen state and instincts drove her pretty heavily. But even so, she was still largely nocturnal, often finding herself wandering well late at night. And while she COULD just go out and snatch herself a racoon or something in the woods, she's mostly just in the mood for a glass of milk when she stops by the kitchen.

"Um... if you don't mind me saying, you look more ill than hungry."

Myra pauses at that, at first relaxing a bit when she realized that she wasn't in trouble. So far. The girl that had joined her in the kitchen seemed to be around her own age, so probably another student.

Then Kagerou's words sank in better and she blushes slightly. "I am very hungry, but cannot find food that not make me sick." She gazes longingly at a tub of ice cream.

"Huh? Do you have an allergy or something?" She'd heard of those. She didn't really have them herself, but she'd heard of them. "What have you been eating up until now that's okay with you?"

"No... it just taste bad. Even scent is bad. Only wanted to eat paint today but that's badder for me." She sighs deeply, leaning back a bit and stroking her hair from her face. "Morning sickness is not morning thing."

... The word choice had her confused more than anything. "Isn't... morning sickness only something that happens when you're pregnant?" Nevermind the rest of what she had said.

She scoots her chair back a bit at that, revealing that yes, she's quite pregnant. Whoops.

And yet, somehow, the confirmation of as much made Kagerou that much more confident as to the solution. Or rather... what she thought it was, anyways, based on her own experiences with her former packmates.

"Meat! That's what you need! Rich fatty meat!"

"Meat?" She looks a bit appalled at that. "I do not eat meat. It's against the ahimsa philosophy."

She didn't have any problem with other people eating meat, but she wouldn't. Eating dead things was not on her list of food she could hold down normally, and right now even the smell of it had her dry-heaving in seconds. The fridge had been emptied of vegetarian options via her telekinesis just to avoid an accident.

Kagerou couldn't look more confused if she tried.

"... Is that, like... a Buddhist thing?" Basically the only exposure she had to the concept of vegetarianism back where she came from. And to a wolf like her, it was a particularly alien concept.

"I am Hindu, but it is Buddhist theory as well." Myra blushes slightly, feeling bad for confusing the other girl. "I am very thankful for thought."

"That complicates things, though. In my old pack," you know before they all started dying off and disappearing for one reason or another, "when a woman was having cubs, she had to eat a lot of the richer fatty meats from any given hunt. Had lots of nutrition for her babies. I dunno how to do that without meat.."

Myra was still learning English and some words were quite confusing, so she's not quite sure if she understood fully when Kagerou speaks of 'pack' and 'cubs', but it doesn't matter. The other girl was trying to help, after all.

"There is cow milk. Lots of protein, mother told us it is good, and good luck. Bean, too... and um... seed things."

Kagerou fought for a moment before her ears perked. "Maybe you could handle tofu?"

"Yes, tofu!" A excellent idea! Question was if they had any, and if she could keep it down. "I did not see any, but reading on things are a little hard."

"That kid Beast Boy has tofu hotdogs in the freezer!" And somehow the idea of stealing his food didn't even remotely strike her as shady. Wolf logic.

Myra shakes her head a little at that. "Oh, no. I cannot take before asking. It would not be polite." She's intrigued, though. It sounded kind of good.

"I will ask him next day."

"But you're hungry now...," Yep. Kagerou still thought like a wolf, in many ways.
