Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!


Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

They say you gain magical powers and become a wizard...

[She trails off for dramatic effect.]

Nobody wants to become a wizard that badly!!!! [ S H R I E K. He can't even believe this--he's leaned in and gotten all excited and everything, only to be made a total fool of.

At least, he assumes he's being made a fool. He's pretty sure being that old and a virgin can't grant you magical powers. ]

[Orin, for her part, bursts into laughter. She really has a bad habit of ragging on people like this, but there's a reason for it.]

I like you, dude! You're exactly the kind of person I like the most!

[Or rather, exactly the kind of person she likes to pick on the most...but those are basically one and the same when it comes to Orin. She likes people based on how much fun she can have with them.]

Aaah, you're probably right though. Even if it were true, I don't think there'd be many wizards around, yeah? Magical powers ain't worth that much!

[She laughs a little to herself.]

Seriously, though, I hope I didn't hurt your feelings too bad. If it makes you feel any better, mutants are basically the closest thing to wizards there are, right? So you're already like...way more of a wizard than most people, if ya think about it like that.

Hardly... If we were ranking wizards by power, I would be the least wizardly. [ Sulk sulk. She's only half-forgiven because that wasn't a real apology. ]

Negative wizard! Just call me Cedric.... [ The failure wizard from that one Princess, Sofia... ]

Aww, c'mon, don't be so hard on yourself! I bet your power's super cool even if it's not all that wizardly. There ain't a power yet that I didn't think was cool, y'know!

[This isn't a lie. One of Orin's hobbies besides picking on people is getting to know about all sorts of different powers. She doesn't do much with the knowledge, just enjoys the fact that powers like the ability to make your own arms fall off exist. (OK he's DC but shshhhhhhhh.)]

As for me, I wouldn't even be a wizard, they'd kick me out. They kick out the necromancers, right? That's how it worked in this video game I played once. Kinda rude, to be honest. So you are definitely not the least wizardly!

[She's trying to make him feel better now. He reminds her of her best friend Okuu in some ways, so she is genuinely starting to feel bad about pranking him...]

[ Well if by making him feel better she means distracting him, then she gets...points? Because whoa now. ]

You're a necromancer???? [ THE WIZARD LEVEL OF THAT IS TOO HIGH TO COUNT?? That's even a class of wizard in most video games with them... ]

Ehhhh...kinda?

[Orin tilts her head and one of her ears twitches. It's always hard to explain this...]

I can talk to the dead. Spirits of the departed, yeah? And I can move their bodies around some, a little bit, but as you might expect, rotten muscles don't move too well...it's a little easier if they died just recently, but then sometimes their spirits haven't left yet and they don't realize they're dead, so I gotta deal with that kinda stuff...

[She skips over her tendency to collect corpses. It's a habit that's not exactly socially acceptable, and she's having a hard time finding a place to keep them on campus anyway, so she hasn't been doing it for some time.]

[ They move?! I thought they were just decorations...! Hopefully she doesn't notice his start a little in surprise and sort of focus on those for a second or two. ]

....That's a little gross. --The moving dead people, I mean. Does that mean you can make zombies??

[If she does notice, she doesn't say anything about it. She's pretty used to the stares. It comes with the territory of visible mutations.]

I guess you could call 'em that. I can't really do anything all that impressive with 'em, but they can get me out of a tight spot, at the very least. It's kinda hard to focus when you're gettin' mobbed by dead people, right, dude?

U-uhh...yeah. That'd definitely be, err...alarming. [ Horrifying more like. He's very glad there are no zombies on campus. ]

Maybe you should call the police if something happens instead.

You kiddin'? One look at the situation and they'd help finish me off instead, 'specially if the guy I was fightin' with looked normal. You can't really rely on the police when you have these things. Trust me, I know from experience, I'm better off without the cops in any situation.

[She points at her ears. She was driven underground as a result of being harassed about her visible mutations, so she has a bit of a chip on her shoulder when it comes to the police. Her usually jovial tone has taken a bit of an edge to it.]

...Oh. I thought they were part of a costume or something at first. [ If that helps...at all. Who knows. Girls wear all sorts of weird fashion accessories! ]
