(Actually because she tends to translate what she hears immediately to her native language like most people and Beast Boy would translate to something like "Bête Garçon" in French, which can be completely literal but can also mean "stupid boy". And that seemed rude!!!
Unlike most people Flandre thought giving Beast Boy a completely unrelated nickname was an appropriate response)
