Morgiana | Magi: Labyrinth of Magic

-1-
In between classes, you heard a shout from above. A moment later, a young girl with bright red hair fell out of the sky (or more accurately, out of the window four floors above you.) and landed on her feet with an earth shattering thud. Literally earth shattering, there were cracks in the ground around her feet.

She dusted herself off a bit, then looked at you apologetically. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you until it was too late. I didn't mean to startle you, but I was in a hurry."

-2-
Morgiana always wanted to help, to be useful. So when she heard that there was some large scale landscaping projects that needed doing on the institute's grounds, she dove in. A moment of absent mindedness had you bounce off of the skinny teenager, who had no less than six of the big bags of fertilizer balanced carefully on her head. She took a step back to catch her balance, but the unsteady mass above her head was already destabilized.

There were about three seconds before it started raining 50 pound bags of organic fertilizer on you both.

"Whoa!" Koshi barely avoided getting stomped with that, and the aftershock lands the short boy straight on his butt. "Um, yeah, I'm fine but... you should really be more careful!"

He didn't seem angry, just genuinely concerned that someone could have gotten hurt there.

"I was promised severe consequences if I was late to class."

She was clearly taking this school very seriously.
batteredbatter: (What the)

[personal profile] batteredbatter 2015-01-05 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I mean, they can't be that severe, can they?" he said, though when he thought of some teachers he wasn't so sure. "I mean, it'd probably make you even later if you did hurt someone, or yourself!"
flying_chains: (Hmm?)

"There was no way a fall that short would harm me. It seemed safer than risking being tardy."

Speaking of which, she starts off towards the next class at a fast walk. Fortunately, it happens to be in the same direction his next class was.
batteredbatter: (That doesn't sound right.)

[personal profile] batteredbatter 2015-01-06 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Well... it still could have harmed someone else," he said dubiously, looking back out of the window she jumped out of. That... wasn't what Koshi would call a short fall.

"Just be more careful next time!" he said, making to head for his class... and realizing they were going the same way.

A shout from above, something falling from the sky at him! HE WAS HOME! He wasn't but the response was the same anyway, get under the falling person so no one else got hurt. He dived to get under Spark, but a few things messed up his attempt.

1 - Not Spark.

2 - Right. He needed the walking stick to... well... walk.

They would probably hit the ground at about the same time. He rolled over, glanced up, saw a girl, and rolled face down again. Skirt or pants, didn't matter, no way he was looking at a girl from this angle, so close to her feet. If she didn't kill him, and he didn't kill himself... well he wasn't sure who would get to him first, his brothers, his father or... he shuddered. He hadn't even looked, not really, and he could feel his mother giving him the eye. Even across the world!

Then he realized, as he rolled to his feet, that the earth was broken. If not Spark, then Rachel? Oh man, she was going to laugh at him forever for blushing. Had he blushed? He wasn't sure. HE sat up before letting himself look at the girl. Okay, not Rachel. Cute, though.

"Hi, had a nice autumn?" he asked.

It was hard to tell from midair, but it seriously looked like he had just tried to dive under her and get himself seriously hurt.

"What were you trying to do!?"

"Catch you," he admitted, sheepishly.

"You could have died!"

"Eh, I'm used to it. 'Death from above' is Spark's favorite game, but usually it ends with someone hurt or bleeding, unless one of us gets under him. Then he just sulks because it's no fun, since if he hurts us we are less inclined to bring him fish."
flying_chains: (You have been judged and found meh)

[personal profile] flying_chains 2015-01-14 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"I see. I'm sorry you had to live through that. Did this Spark person hurt your leg?"

Morgiana had a very graphic and also inaccurate mental image of what Spark was like.

"Spark? Nah, worst he ever did was take or mess up my walking stick a few times, Spark's cool. Fishy, but cool."

She put her hands on his shoulders and looked him very seriously in the eye.

"You don't need to excuse the ones who hurt you. The only chains on you are in your own mind."

He blinked several times, then laughed, though the laugh was a little too forced. "Spark is a cat," he explained, hoping she didn't press. Spark was a cat, but... He still refused to believe that Jacob meant to hurt him. It didn't help how often Dominic had said similar things about Jacob, but... The three of them were brothers, Nd... And even after Barthis, Greg couldn't give up on Jacob. Couldn't.

[personal profile] gregorydeegan 2015-01-14 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"A cat," he agreed. Okay so there was more of a story to Spark thn that, involving mutant powers, and genetc splicing equipment, but his father told it better, so he skirted the issue. If course, his father told every story better....
flying_chains: (Hmm?)

[personal profile] flying_chains 2015-01-15 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I...have misinterpreted the situation. My apologies."

She realized her hands were still on his shoulders and abruptly let go, taking a step back.

"I tried to help when you didn't need it, you tried to help when I didn't need it. Key concept? We both tried yo help." He grinned at her, and reached until he found his walking stick... With the tips of his fingers, juuuust too far to grab with dignity. Not that he had much left. Not that he ever had much at all. He could use hi mutant power.... But somehow he knew he was going to be too stubborn for that.

So he took a lesson from the cat. Clearly if he was still sitting on the floor, it was because that was exactly where he wanted to be. Yep. He was here by choice, he totally meant to keep sitting on the grass. Right.

"I'm Gregory. Gregory Deegan, yes that Gregory Deegan, no applause necessary." He grinned. "Though if you really wanted to give me a hand, I suppose it would lift my spirits." Another grin as he waited to see of she caught the double meaning. Nit quite a double-entendre, but close enough.
