THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag, as well as the weekly updates to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

"Wait... healing? Like... cauterizing things?" Fire was hot last she checked. And hot was not usually good for healing.

He grinned. "I can go get it and show you, if you want." He was not inviting a girl he just met to his room. And if he invited ANYONE who reminded him of Rachel anywhere near his clothing... he really REALLY did not want to be wearing buttless chaps.

"Show me what, the axe or the fire?" Okay, she lost track of the conversation. Admittedly, such a task was not, and continues to not be, any kind of difficulty. Nora's thought train could be generously described as 'easily distracted'. "I'm still trying to figure out how you heal with fire. Usually when I set things on fire, it's definitely not to heal them."

"Oh, THAT I can show without the Axe," he said with a grin. "It's kind of hot." And that look on his face of pride that he made such a bad pun. "Lead on, it's probably better if we have some space."

"Booooo," was about all she could say about the new pun. But the control center of the danger room was probably a bit bad, though the actual... danger room itself...

... Well, no one else was using it right at that second, probably no harm in going right back out the open door. She wanted to see! Other people's mutant powers were pretty cool. Especially when she didn't fully understand what they meant.

Through the door she went, with a bouncy jaunt in her step, and swinging her arms a little too wide.

He chuckled and followed after her. Given his limp, his step was a different sort of bouncy than hers was. His staff clumped the ground behind her as he used it to keep from falling over. He looked around the danger room, fascinated. "So what is this place?"

"It's a training room," She replied, jauntily, pirouetting on a toe to walk backward in front of him. "People who are X-Men, or want to be X-Men usually come here to train and get better at facing danger. I wanna be an X-Man! ... So I might have kept on that staff member's case a little to get them to let me in here."

"I want to be one too, it's why I'm here, considering this school," he admitted. "This is nice, better than the planar space my mom takes her students." He turned to look around the room, and lifted his staff to point at something on a high wall. "What's that?" he asked, walking towards it, staff still raised. He made one step, two steps, plop.

Face plant onto the floor of the danger room. "I need my staff to walk, right," he said with a groan. "I'm so lame."
not_together_together: (Oh!)

[personal profile] not_together_together 2015-01-07 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Nora looked around. "Well, I noticed a lot of people seem to be here for a lot of reasons, so I don't want to jump to conclusions. And a planar space? Like a different dimension? OoooOOoooo..."

Which, the 'oo' continued right through the guy tripping, and turned into something of a squeak as he fell. Of course, Nora couldn't leave him on the ground like that, so the first thing she did was jump forward to try to help him back up. That should be pretty easy, given her strength.

"Hey, well, yanno... some people do. But you're not lame. You're lame, but you're not like lame-lame, you know?"

He grinned at her, and it was clear the lame thing was meant as a joke. He accepted the help. "I forget and fall a lot," he confessed. "I try not to let it get me down." His father would be so proud.
not_together_together: (Hmm?)

"You are just full of puns, left and right, aren't you?" She had to ask, as she helped him to his feet without even the slightest hint of effort on her part. The pun thing was pretty obvious, but she just had to state it.

"I eat 'um for breakfast, lunch, and dinner," he agreed, playing off of the concept of being full.
