Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

A. Action, School Grounds

[Waking up from a Phoenix-induced nap was disorienting enough on its own. Waking up to find that years had passed and all the people he'd known, the friends he'd made, were either gone or still asleep was shattering...not that it'd show.

Encouraged to get back out among these new students, Skaar can be found wandering the halls and the grounds, though he's very withdrawn and doesn't initiate conversation. Perhaps someone more talkative can draw him out of his shell.]

B. Action, Danger Room

[The grounds of the school seems to be suffering from minor tremors today, some stronger than others as glasses rattle in the cabinets in the kitchen and items fall off bookshelves. Those in the Danger Room will know better.

Stress relief in a safe environment is often encouraged for the mental and emotional benefits and that's why Skaar is here Hulked out and ripping through the Danger Room exercises with his bare hands. As the simulation comes to a close, he stands there panting heavily while waiting to see if that was enough...or he needs more.]

C. Network

My name is Skaar. I'm not really new. I was here before everything...happened and I was put to sleep.

It doesn't look like there's anyone here that I knew from before so I guess I have to start over.

[He doesn't sound too broken up about it, but it's pretty depressing losing the first friends he ever made.]

-From the intercom, Reimu's voice chimes in.-

Hey, I'm getting the signal from Beast that the shock absorbers are starting to strain too much. I know you're still hot, but I think it's time to take a break.

[sonofhulk]

I'm not done.

[Already, he's managed to catch his breath and is ready for more despite having been going at it for hours consecutively.]

[musou_tensei]

... I don't think I was clear. You're done. McCoy is pulling the plug. You're putting too much strain on the shock absorbers.

[sonofhulk]

Fine.

[He gives a growl of frustration before punching the nearest wall, leaving a dent as he moves towards the danger room exit.]

You got any other options?

-Reimu's thoughts were pretty immediately drifting into 'why me?' territory. He was in little mood to deal with a Hulk at the moment.-

Well, how about some light cardio to get your heart rate down?

[sonofhulk]

[The blank stare on Skaar's face as he comes to loom over Reimu makes it clear that he doesn't know what 'light cardio' is.]

[musou_tensei]

... Maybe yoga? -Reimu, stop.-

Look, the point is, you've got energy to burn, but even the Danger Room has its limits. Or, well, it doesn't, but the building surrounding it does.

Then what am I expected to do until these limits are fixed? Fight you?

[Apparently, he thinks that thought is humorous since he gives a bit of a snide smirk.]

... It's funny you should say that. I was 'volunteered' for this by Logan because my powers help me be able to survive punches like yours.

... He's a real asshole.

So he volunteered you as a punching bag. Funny.

Anyways, the point is, you need to find some way of getting that energy out without tearing down the whole facility in the process.

"With a name like Skaar, I have a feeling we'll be pretty good friends,"

[Gregory said with a grin. A name like that either he was trying to be ironic - which could be amusing, threatening - which could be hilarious, a rocker - which could mean a new band-mate, OOOOOOOR.... he could be like Greg, putting his handicap out there in the forefront, in everyone else's faces, so that they didn't harass him about it. What fun was it to taunt someone who got to the joke first and beat you to the punchline? ]

Really? Why?

[Considering the history behind his name, Skaar wasn't sure if what Gregory said was a good thing or not.]

[gregorydeegan]

"Never mind," he said with a chuckle. "Well, welcome back. If you ever need someone to chat with, my door...and my couch fort, are open."

[He shifted the camera to show that he was, in fact, laying in a huge couch fort.

[sonofhulk]

[That...was a really good idea. He wants a couch fort now!]

Can I make a couch fort too?

"SURE!!!!!!!"

[sonofhulk]

[His device is set down as the sound of movement is heard a short ways away. After maybe a minute or two, it's picked up again and Skaar is sitting inside a couch fort of his own.]

"Best. Things. Ever!" he agreed.

What was your name?

[Skaar liked the idea of having his own little private nook that he could set up whenever he needed some alone time. Even if it was just made out of couch cushions.]

[gregorydeegan]

"Oh, right. Sorry, I'm Gregory. Gregory Deegan. Yes, that Gregory Deegan."

[sonofhulk]

"......should I know that name?"

[Being stuck in a 5 year Phoenix nap will definitely keep someone out of the loop.]

[He grinned a bit. People didn't always ask.]

"Maybe," he admitted. "Probably more familiar with my dad, though. Donovan Deegan," he nodded. "Of course most people in America don't know him either."

Oh. Sorry, I don't know who that is, but lots of people know who my dad is too. His name's Bruce Banner. The tv people usually just call him the Hulk.
