THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!


Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag, as well as the weekly updates to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

Aqua was looking for a book herself when she spotted the young man and his assistant. She gave them a warm smile as she approached, holding "1587, a year of no significance" in her arms, along with a copy of the Analects.

"Need some assistance?" she asked gently. She took the blue angel in stride. She liked the color, and it certainly wasn't all that unusual to her. Though she did wonder how the ability worked.

She also wondered if this was a new student, or another new teacher, or even someone who had been here a while that she had simply yet to meet.

"Oh?" Ah, he's got a slight idea who this might be, but not the details. In any case, the offer of help gets a smile - with his own book selection leaning towards world history, it's a good sign. Of course, he could find them himself, he's sure, but...
"Only if it wouldn't be any trouble. I don't suppose you could direct me towards any of-" And he points out the titles he needs on his list. "These?"

She looks over the list then smiles and nods. "I was just in this section earlier looking for books to potentially assign this coming term." She smiled warmly again and started pulling the books he needed. She had been spending more and more time familiarizing herself with the English translated contents of this library. It was odd being somewhere that got so cold in the winter.

"Getting ready for the new term?" she asked as she handed over two of the books.

"Preparing for a research project," he says with a nod. "I believe this list should be enough to begin with, but I suppose I'll have to see soon enough." Certainly looks like he's going pretty in-depth with it all. The books go with the others he's carrying - or having carried, at least, for all the difference that makes.

Which... still didn't tell her if he was a student or faculty. She would never get used to the way things were here, she supposed; where there was a firm line between the two and she was expected to somehow instinctively know which was which.

"Is it anything that I could help with?" she offered.

Theo shakes his head - "Not at present," he says. He's not the sort to go asking for help before he's even had a minor setback, after all, even from actual teachers. Not to be impolite, though, he adds, "But thank you for your offer."
