⊗ In line with our last quick note on the subject and Storm's recent announcement, we'll be trying to give student X-Teams more of a role in the game's action in the near future, which first and foremost means encouraging more to form up! (Faculty characters are welcome to get involved too, either by taking leadership roles as team sponsors/supervisors or just counseling students trying to decide whether to join up!)

⊗ For ease of plotting/coordination, feel free to plan out which of your characters are looking to join up, which might need a little encouragement, and which totally aren't up for all that spandex with each other right here!

⊗ In the wake of the District X riots, Storm addresses the school concerning recent events and the student body's role going forward.

AROUND THE WORLD

⊗ Though there have been no major clashes between the Mutant Liberation Front and Friends of Humanity since the X-Day Riots, National Guard and police crackdowns on both groups continue to dominate the news. Pro-Registration voices in both government and the media are putting increasing pressure on the Kelly administration to identify, locate, and arrest all members of MLF leadership who remain at large.

⊗ District X remains continuously monitored by the authorities following the end of the rioting. Though media coverage of the area has been scant post-X-Day, sources report a sharp decline in the availability of humanitarian aid in the District and repeated incidents of police harassment of mutant residents...

⊗ Made in the wake of the recent crackdowns, Genosha's offer of political asylum to any and all mutants targeted for their involvement with the MLF has drawn condemnation from pundits and officials across the political spectrum. Calls for the Kelly administration to break off attempts at peace talks with Magneto's government have only been renewed by accusations that this makes Genosha a tacit sponsor of mutant terrorism.

⊗ Representatives of the National Film Board of Canada have not been heard from since the riots. Current, wild speculation is that, during the chaos, they were taken prisoner by Morlocks and thus far have been too polite to ask to be let go. Logan doesn't care one way or the other; he's just thankful for the peace and quiet.

Given how long she's been at the school, it's becoming more and more unusual how Moxxi still hasn't been caught without her makeup. Word is that it doesn't even smudge, or run when she takes a dip in the pool.

I guess I'll start!

Shindou is already part of a trainee team with Bridget, Kanji, and Rinka. They've been training together since around November of last year and have all seen at least a little field action, though not together as a team. Recently they've been working up to finally starting to hit the Danger Room.

They're pretty solid as is, but they could still use a fifth member and a new faculty sponsor! They're a well-rounded group, powers-wise, so they could probably fit in characters in a lot of different niches. I feel like they could use a team troublemaker/firebrand in terms of personalities, though... (As far as faculty goes, Shindou has a soft spot in his heart for super-serious, responsible adults, but he could always be outvoted by the rest of his team!)

Gilbert thinks that X-Teams are fascist, quasi-military dress-up clubs and that their uniforms are ugly to boot. He's probably not gonna join up.

Reimu has a team consisting of Marisa and Flandre, and while attempts were made at recruiting early on, it mostly fizzled out. Let me know if you're interested in joining his group.

Bridget is a member of Shindou's team.

Kyouko is very pacifistic and anti-violence, so will be difficult to convince to join a team, but it's possible.

After what Kagerou did during the X-Day riots (likely killed a few FoH members, pretty much went completely rogue when the fighting broke out), she's likely considered more of a liability than an asset to any potential team, but I would personally love a more radical, maybe pro-MLF team to recruit her.

Emma has put together a new generation of her old X-Team, the Hellions. They were initially formed for plot purposes, but she liked them so much she figured she'll make it a permanent thing.

Raven, Eddie, and Nora chime in if you want to continue representing the Hellion name. Could also use another recruit as well.

Ceireia can be talked into sponsoring/joining a team! She's not fond of fighting, but she's not just going to sit by and do nothing, especially if students are throwing themselves into the conflict!

Kokoro isn't exactly looking to join a team, but she can probably be dragged into it. Her abilities aren't the most stable, however.

Alric is still inclined to try starting a team... but the first attempt went pretty hilariously badly due to almost no response, and the one response ending in the other partly freaking out and breaking things. Part of what he's at the school for is to learn X-Men-esque skills, including leadership, which doesn't work very well without the whole... team-leading thing. So. The question of leadership is kind of a hugely important personal issue for him, especially considering his station.

Anyway, as a literal knight-errant, his vision for a team is basically "go out and do good deeds, for the sake of doing good deeds, and also to make a visible statement about mutants as people who are a positive influence in the community." If there's interest, it would be good to know! Or if there isn't I guess that would also be good to know!

After re-experiencing violent conflict, Slayer has decided to resume his X-Training and will be looking into sponsoring a team.

Eddie will take some nudging but it appears he's going to be part of Emma's Hellions.

Raven is going a part of Emma's "Hellions" team. However, she's still available if anyone would like a training/sparring partner.

Mad Moxxi would be willing to sponsor/endorse a team. Just realize that she firmly believes in a "shoot first and ask questions never" sort of policy. She may also come to favor a team in a more unofficial capacity. In any case, whoever she backs will probably get special treatment as far as having their gear/tech repaired, or trying out her latest gadgets and weapons. I can also guarantee that your character(s) will look their sexiest once she's through with them.

Mona Lisa is still a little too green (pun intentional) to be joining teams, but she'll most likely be doing some training of her own just to toughen up. Ideally, I would like for her to join a more... morally ambiguous team to follow with her actions in canon and my own plans for her.

Labrys is going to be in severe "study" mode. Also, she miiight have gotten the wrong idea from Feliks and thinks the X-Teams are some sort of Human Interest Club as opposed to a quasi-military squad. Oops.

Uh, aside from that she actually is a very good fighter, but that is layered beneath a whole heap of bad memories. I'm already suspecting/planning a freak out when she sees the Danger Room for the first time. If/when she finds out that this is a fighting group she's going to have some strong objections. I suspect she'll need some major incentive to get drawn back into the fray.

So, mostly for right now she is just happy doing the school thing. Even if... she's being a dangerously enthusiastic about it.

So far Skaar has agreed to be on an X team with Gregory Deegan since he was the first to ask but either way, I'd still like for Skaar to find training partners who can take and dish damage like he can so his Hulk side can stop assuming they're all puny.

Any other ideas/suggestions certainly encouraged.

Takakage would honestly need lots lots lots of convincing for him to be willing to go out in the field, but he can be a faculty advisor, no problem.

He is also a trained doctor so if anyone gets injured you'll be seeing him.

As already been seen, Marisa] is on a team and isn't interested in leaving it. Because duh, her best friends.

Meiling on the other hand is wide open. Although with her unique power issues, she's going to to be fairly hesitant about it.

This should be easy enough; Nora isn't going to turn down the chance to be part of a wrecking ball group so she's going to end up playing Hellion. They let the girl with the grenade launcher onto that team. Their problem.

Raiko would have deceptively good powers for support on a team, but she is too laid back for X-Men levels of violence. It'll be an uphill fight, but she may be convinceable.

Sakuya is neither going to be on a team nor sponsor one. It's her job to clean up the PTSD all these young kids in violent situations are going to end up having.

Reki is trained as an X-Man now and as such available to be a faculty sponsor. She's reluctant to kill but not a pacifist, as long as she can morally justify it to herself.

Liir should maybe form an MLF sympathizing team with Rin and whoever else is inclined? And then that team should have a split over some small difference

Naija is available for any team that needs an aquatic specialist

Tenma only wants to train so he can at least know what to do in an emergency. He's willing to join the team as long as he doesn't have to go out to the field for the time being because explaining to his mother senpai that he signed up for training behind is back is something he wants to avoid for as long as possible.
