THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

The company I was working for decided I didn't deserve a job when I missed a security camera and used my power in view. Apparently protecting a client doesn't matter as much as being human. Apparently something like that gets back to the X-Men you find yourself with a job offer.

[She hits the bag even harder in frustration]

It definitely wasn't who I expected to be bailing me out of lockup.

No kidding... I'm starting to realize stories like that aren't uncommon among the folks here. If I had to be honest... it's part of why I'm here too. Interpol never had an issue with me being mutant before. Having a cop super hero was excellent for PR. The Chinese government in particular was more than happy to exploit my image for public service messages, social diplomacy, and so on...

But I guess the situation is too tense right now to have a high profile mutant working in the field... I am grateful to Charles Xavier for finding a use for me, otherwise I'd be glued to a desk in Lyon or Beijing for however long it takes for tensions to ease...

It's for the best. Working for a larger company was never something I enjoyed. More than happy to take a mutants money but one working there? Nooooo we can't have that.

Working for a place like that is a means to an end. All I want is my own firm with my own clientele. I felt sometimes like I protected more people working as a bouncer than I ever did there.

the fucking hypocrisy of it all is infuriating. Years of work suddenly gone because god forbid I'm a mutant.

No. I resent myself for not seeing it earlier and getting out. This here is the kind of fresh start I need. Somewhere I can know I'm doing the right thing for the right people.

Yes lucky you. Once I get settled here your are going to have to let me test myself against you. I haven't had many opportunities to face off with someone of your caliber and I'm going to need new sparring partners.
