Character Name: Gilberte de Rais (female AU of Gilles de Rais/Caster from Fate/Zero)

Brief Personality: An unstable art lover who enjoys violent imagery. Gregarious, friendly, and eccentric, but extremely unreliable, unless you're one of her favorite people. If she had a yearbook quote, it might be, "Somehow or other I'll be famous, and if not famous, I'll be notorious."

Brief AU History: Gilberte, although an oddball, lived a relatively normal life as a French schoolgirl in Brittany. Her world primarily revolved around her best friend, but when that friend, a mutant rights activist, was killed by anti-mutant extremists at a mutant rights rally, Gilberte lost her mind. Her powers exploded into full force, and she caused a bloody incident that was infamously known as Le Massacre de Louvre. If you'd like to know more, her app is here.

Joined School: She's technically been at the school for more than a year, but she was in a holding cell for the first several months. She's been out and about for a few months, though. She's currently living on the 1st floor of the girls' dormitory, and her roommate is Catherine Fujishima.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: Anything! Gilberte especially loves creative people, so she would be drawn to other characters in the arts. She's also in the theatre club, so I'll be doing something with that. There may be a play in the future. Any fellow theatre club members or people to recruit would be great. Gilberte is very pro mutant rights, but for her own selfish reasons. I would like to get her involved with that, but she is a questionable ally to have. She also has a very dangerous power, which some people would love to have access to, so the administration keeps an eye on her.

On an average day, Gilberte skips class a lot and hangs out outside or in the art rooms. She's in the process of making a "haunted forest" by mutating trees to create a very creepy little corner of her own on campus.

As she was in the news, any characters are welcome to put two and two together and know about her past.

oh hey Flandre pretty much grew up near Nantes. So she definitely would have heard about her; if not directly, definitely through local news or her parents.

If she wasn't in isolation then, her parents were probably doubly careful to keep Flandre under the radar since her mutation was both very dangerous (destruction) and not very well controlled then. She kind of got a shitton of mutant power dumped on her head at once, but her family has always had feral mutations in it (claws, being able to see in the dark, red eyes, her sister has batlike wings, one of her cousins is a werewolf, etc). The Scarlets have been around for a long time, too; maybe they interacted with the de Rais in the past?

Dolorous Liir here has kindof gotten into the position of unofficial leader or at least organizer of all mutant radicals in the school. Also his mother was a 'witch'...

Brief Personality: Angry and overly serious, and with a lot of wrongheaded ideas and a big mouth, but basically a good person at heart.

Brief AU History: Eren's mother was killed by mutants when he was a child, and he was raised by a splinter group associated with the Friends of Humanity, taught to believe that mutants are a danger that should be stopped. When he turned out to be a mutant, things went bad very fast, but he was rescued from his adoptive family by mutants working with Xavier. Now he's trying to adapt to his new life.

Joined School: He was at school before for a few months last year, but he left for medical treatment following a mental breakdown shortly after the holidays. He's been back for about a month now, after an absence of a few months.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: All CR, negative or positive! Eren is a bit better now, but it's still sadly easy to set him off and start a fight with him, especially if he thinks someone is pro-MLF. He does have a tendency to mouth off about his unpopular political views, so there's that. He just might be the only FoH sympathizer on campus. However, when people aren't hostile to him, he calms down. His big thing right now is being anti-terrorist, but he is still pro-MRA. People to train with, spar with, or actually get along with are always welcome. Also, I'd love a mentor for him.

Not only is Zancrow pro-MLF he's a member of the group.And he wouldn't take kindly to Eren's Friends of Humanity background. So these two are not going to like each other at all.

Character Name: Ryuuna Uryuu

Brief Personality: serial killer in the making Eccentric and easily bored. Ryuuna is upbeat and personable, but she has trouble connecting with people on a more-than-superficial level, and she has a tendency to move quickly from one interest to the next. Likes art, especially of the sorta-morbid kind.

Brief AU History: Ryuuna was always the problem child in her family, especially when compared to her model student sister. When said sister turned up dead a year or so ago, it was ruled to be an anti-mutant hate crime, and her parents kinda panicked and had her sent to the Institute to protect her. Ryuuna was of course completely uninvolved in this crime in every way, there is no way she is actually a murderer, ha...ha...

Joined School: Late last summer, just before the school year started.

Kaede would...actually not act like an abrasive asshole immediately if Ryuuna asked her to model for ARTING because that's exactly what Aiko said and she's not over dead friend yet.

She will probably flip between extremes after she figures out what Ryuuna's general art subject is because on one hand she's like "meh whatever" and the other she'd be like "YOU'RE DISRESPECTING AIKO'S MEMORY" because what is disassociating people with Kaede's 99 issues similar interests??

Brief Personality: A shy, socially awkward nerd. This is the person who canonly googled someone she had a crush on instead of talking to them, then told them they would be a "fascinating subject for an in-depth study." She isn't very good at this.

Brief AU History: Liara's mother is the spiritual leader to a liberal social movement in South Africa. However, because mutant acceptance is tenuous at best, she has always hidden her mutant appearance and heritage. As such, when Liara was born with extensive physical mutations herself, she pretty much decided she would keep her hidden from the public. There was homeschooling, a private doctor, the works. ANYWAY, long story short, Liara got restless and after enough wheedling, her mother agreed to let her attend college at Xavier's.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas:
She's new, so anything really. I mean, obviously, I would like for her to awkwardly attempt to make friends and put her foot in her mouth a lot, but beyond that, maybe someone who will get her involved in ill-advised teenage hijinks? She's very naive in some respects, so it would be easy to lead her around by the nose. She's also easily dazzled by confidence and an at least outward appearance of competence, so ~role models~ could be fun.

Also, if your character is the type to know about social justice movements in South Africa, I think it would be hilarious if someone asked Liara if she's related to Benezia T'Soni, so she can lie badly about it.

Finally, she's roomed with Mona Lisa, so hmu sometime!

Awww Liara sounds sweet. I think her and Rinka would get along well. She won't mind any foot-mouth syndrome at all. I can't promise any ill-advised hijinks, as Rinka tends to get dragged into them herself as well, but considering Rinka's roommate, it might be possible to find some.

Canon: Alex Rider books by Anthony Horowitz

Brief Personality: Alex is charming, but reserved. Outside of sports teams, he has trouble working as part of a group. He is self-reliant and independent to a fault. And even though he tries to present a carefree and nonchalant attitude, his cynicism often peeks through.

Brief AU History: Alex grew up in London, England with his uncle, Ian. Life was great until his uncle died shortly after Alex turned 14. As it turned out, Ian was a spy. And a mutant. Plus, Ian's boss knew all about the fact Alex was a mutant. Through some very underhanded emotional manipulation, Alex was forced to became an operative. Over the next year and a half, he completed nine 'missions'. Some were at the behest of MI6, and for some he was 'loaned out' to other agencies, including the CIA and the ASIS. This all concluded last summer with the worst 'mission gone wrong' ever. MI6 reluctantly terminated its usage of Alex and allowed him to move to the States. He attempted to attend a 'normal' school at first, but various events changed his mind.

Joined School: Beginning of October, last year

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: Alex is heavily involved in sports. Soccer, tennis, rowing, biking, skiiing, scuba diving, you name it he's probably tried it. He also studies karate and is a black belt.

Eventually, eventually, I'd like for him to get on a training team. Either a home-front defense team or, depending on various things, a more espionage focused team. As of right now, he has no desire to be on any sort of training team and would flat out turn down anyone who offered.

He's rooming with Tenma Matsukaze, so roommate shenanigans ahoy.

Character Name: Rinka Urushiba

Canon: Tokyo ESP

Brief Personality: Rinka is a kindhearted, empathic person, who is really protective of her friends. If she sees something wrong, she'll try to do something about it, whether that means kicking ass and taking names or providing a shoulder to cry on. She's also extremely practical and frugal, and a bit of a romantic.

Brief AU History: Rinka grew up poorer than a church mouse. Her ex-cop father was pushed out of the police force for trying to root out corruption (and for being a mutant) and afterwards couldn't hold down a steady job. By high school Rinka was working part-time at a restaurant to make ends meet. By chance she encountered a boy just as her mutant powers emerged, and he soon had her running around Tokyo as a mutant vigilante duo, protecting the public from mutants who were misusing their powers. Trained from childhood in martial arts by her father, Rinka is a capable fighter, even without her mutant power.

Joined School: Beginning of September, last year

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: Rinka is a very active girl! She needs running buddies for her early morning runs. I'm also looking for sparring buddies for her as well, for both aikido and kali/eskrima.

She's on Shindou's training team, and on the weekends she works at a fancy-schmancy cafe in town.

Rinka needs female friends to be girly with, b/c atm most of her CR is male. :|

She currently rooms with Nora Valkyrie, which is pretty much the most amazing thing ever.

Brief Personality: Hoo boy. Well, "grumpy" is a good place to start. She tends towards irritable, abrasive, and arrogant most of the time, quiet but Silently Judgmental or just flat-out ignoring someone/the world the rest. Amongst her many issues are a violent streak not quite a mile wide but close that usually only comes out when she feels especially threatened; she's been behaving lately, though. And she's made a promise not to kill anyone.

She might still break a nose, though.

Brief AU History: Born near Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Kaede hasn't...had the best start in life. Many of her issues spun out from the stressful ball of anxiety her early life turned into after she was fostered out to parents who got in over their heads.

Also she kind of killed her mom. By accident, but she's still the combobreaker of Team Dead Moms because of that.

These issues got worse when she was transferred to another facility where she became increasingly violent and sadistic, until she killed again—and her only friend Aiko was shot by police when they mistook her for Kaede. She still assumes they did so to make her suffer more; whether they actually did so is debatable.

So she really hates humans right now, uniformed police especially. Other mutants, though, are something she hasn't interacted much with and so is still in the Idle Curiosity mindset.

Joined School: Early spring of this year.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas:

-She really needs training on her telepathy, especially now that she's part of a team. At the moment she has trouble telepathically communicating with others in ways they (and Kaede) understand.

-Since Chun-Li kicked her into next week last month she's been steadfastly avoiding her; if she sees Chun-Li she'll bail even if she's mid-conversation. She's not looking forwards to training at all because of that. Obviously they should meet up again if only to make Kaede's life complicated.

-Also making Krista's life difficult will also probably be a thing.

Brief Personality: Growing up alternately in an isolation room as much as a normal house with well-adjusted and supportive parents, Flandre's a bit...odd. Usually kind and polite, she jumps to conclusions sometimes and can be a bit stubborn. She loves her sister very much and tends to get cranky if she hears bad things about her regardless if they're correct or not.

Brief AU History: Born around Nantes, France, Flandre had the standard Rich European Parents Upbringing with the added bonus of being shoved into a mutant-resistant box every once in awhile to keep her powers from killing anyone. It didn't work once. Once her wings and their power limiters installed, she could experience things somewhat normally! And grew about two feet. She originally went to the Institute because it was a place where she could (somewhat) safely attend school, now she's here because she has a job to do, namely trying to be an X-man.

Joined School: Two, threeish years ago; she's been around awhile, including a year before stasis.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas:
-Flandre kind of had a confidence crisis at the beginning of the month; she's getting better now, but she's still a bit more uncertain or wishy washy at things than she was before. Feel free to notice her being wobbly.

-Her teeth have regenerated by now but Skaar still has the fang she lost.

Brief Personality: Dolorous Edd+war guilt+mutant radicalism+Well Done Son Guy. Still kindof figuring himself out.
Brief AU History: Son of a famous mutant insurgent in Oz (which is in the North Atlantic, about at the level of Gibraltar). Joined the army when she died, did some bad stuff under orders as a grunt, got himself a boyfriend there, found out the army was using his mother's research, decided to burn all the things. Most recently involved in the riots and recruiting a mutant radical team.

Joined School: about 9 months ago

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas:

-Liir is a mutant radical. That means he needs both political friends and enemies. People who expect things out of him because of his heritage (which will take some digging to find) are especially appreciated. He's especially looking for recruits for the x-team.

-People need to help him work through his guilt from his time in the army. Someone who has experience working with vets who did bad stuff might help.

-busybodies who can help him get over his shyness a bit and learn to have fun

He's also suspicious about terrorism in the school, and he's on the case, so basically there's not much chance things can go well between them.

Brief Personality: A rather serious person, due to a strong sense of justice and honor gelled over a far more impulsive, fiery inner nature, Alric takes pains to be polite and diplomatic in all things. He's dedicated to the idea of making the world a better place in whatever ways he can, particularly as a knight-errant on a quest to do good works.

Brief AU History: Alric, crown prince of the small European nation of Kaitheny, grew up always struggling to control his plasma-generation ability and his fierce temper. He got into trouble more than once as a boy and as a teenager, but he has since learned as much as he can without the benefit of experience dealing with such powers; now he's looking to learn from the experts.

Joined School: Early October 2014

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: Alric is seeking leadership experience, as well as opportunities to do some good. As such, he's above all looking to form an X-team, although he's also totally open to just making more friends, as well.

Brief Personality: Mitsutada pretty much fits the 'nice guy' archetype. Friendly, caring and enthusiastic, he enjoys interacting with others and getting to know them. He's a very grounded person, responsible and effective, but has a silly side and an obsession with being cool. (I'm serious, his OU lines reference coolness almost all the goddamn time. Prepare for secondhand embarrassment if you're in hearing range.) But one thing is that he doesn't complain or show any negativity to the point of stressing him out badly inside, so empaths are free to find out that your mature senpai isn't all as happy as he seems ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Brief AU History: Normal guy with normal childhood. Good grades, good looks, and would have become very successful in life if not for a car nearly running him over. His powers awakened at that time, saving himself and his best friend - but at the cost of mauling his right eye so badly it's completely unrecognizable, thus his eyepatch. He was transferred to a society for mutants with the same power as he does, and ended up becoming the housekeeper and babysitter. Came to Institute under some exchange program, so there's bound to be a good amount of cultural shock here.

Joined School: Just joined! Let's say at the start of May.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: EVERYTHING! I've had him sign up for Alric's X-Team, and made plans to let him play soccer with Ken, but other than that I'm up for anything. Friends, younger students to Team Mom over, people he can spar with (he's a terrifyingly good swordsman), get to know the teachers personally - he is very friendly and open to pretty much anyone. Even people with opinions different from his.

Also, since he is quite good-looking esp in OU, maybe venture the idea of someone having a crush on him, or him getting one for someone else??

Brief Personality: Flik is a sad, angry, confident eastern european. He hides his real self a lot but once you crack through his shell he opens up and is pretty much great best friend material. He's always there for the people he cares about and will never betray them.

Brief AU History: Eastern European revolutionary who grew up homeless on the streets of Toran. A hero in his home country after freeing it from an oppressive government alongside his best friends. The woman he loved and initial leader of the revolution died during it all. After it was all finished he applied to join Xavier's so he could get some real education and continue fighting for a cause he could believe in.

Joined School: The beginning of the most recent semester we'll say. He's mostly been moping around alone to this point.

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: Friends! He's finally realized he can't continue to sit along and ignore everything but his schoolwork. He's wanting to throw his all into everything now that he feels more at home. He'll also want to join an X-Team and start working towards his real goal of being here.

Zancrow has a history of terrorizing Eastern European countries in the past. Say about two years ago. One of the towns he could have attacked could have been in Toran.

Brief Personality: Psychotic blood knight. Extremely loyal to whatever cause he's part of, in his case mutant radicalism.

Brief AU History: A member of the Mutant Liberation Front that joined the school at Renko's behest. Mostly so he would stop trying to burn the place down. As a part of the MLF he was an guerrilla fighter who caused lots of property damage on whatever job he was on. Before joining the MLF he was part of mutant terrorist group that was active in Eastern Europe before being disbanded two years ago.

Joined School: A little after Renko sought asylum at the school

Plans/CR seeking/other ideas: Zancrow is not well and in need of psychological help. Any of the counselors want to tackle his issues?

Zancrow is seventeen, and he's in the ninth grade. He never finished middle school so anyone want to help with school work, or try to get him to care would be fun.

He's also trouble, so anyone who likes to fight he'll take them on.
