THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

AND REMEMBER, RESERVES OPEN AUGUST 3RD!

Oh I don't fit in here. The computer your using is only showing you an image of me. I'm really back in my room. Basically my computer has an eye, called a camera lens, and an ear, called a microphone, that watches what I do and listens to what I say. What it sees and hears is then sent to your computer so you can see and hear it.

Well it's a little more complicated than that, but that's the basic idea.

What do you think? Pretty neat huh?

Yes, that's neat. I can see and hear. But it's really, really loud. Are you shouting?

No, no. If you look at the bottom-right corner you should see a little icon that looks like a bowl on its side. Double click on it, and a bar will appear. Click towards the bottom of the bar to lower the volume. Does that help?

[Xercis pressed the volume control button as instructed but in the wrong direction. It made such a loud noise she covered her ears as she fixed it by turning it again. Finally, it was soft enough for her to hear. Then she typed.]

Um, hello?

[Cerxis waved enthusiastically at the computer. She thought longingly of pizza, yummy delicious, doughy pizza waiting in the fridge. So simple, so uncomplicated, so.... concrete. Not ethereal like the strange powers inside the box they called a computer. She sighed.]

I am okay, Viti. Just tired. The teacher gives me extra lessons. I must catch up before I am able to leave the "elementary school" lessons. I am better now.

Well it sounds like you're making progress at least. I guessing adding and subtracting shouldn't be too hard for you, but what about reading and writing. How are you doing with that?

So so. I have learned to write many words. But the books are strange still. There are many things I do not understand. I have not seen such strange things. Teacher must point to objects I do not know. We do not have such things in my tribe. We do not have toasters. Why burn bread in a silver box when there is a good oven to warm it?

Well the toaster is more direct. It's faster. Not sure if it's more cost effective, with electrical heating in and all. Well I think it's cheaper overall, but I get your point. There's alot of new things here. All we can do is keep working at this.
