⊗ Elsa-mun was kind enough to post a HMD meme for those who want to make use of it! We do not have an official scheduled HMD for this game, but if you guys feel that is a thing that should happen, feel free to let us know!

⊗ ACTIVITY CHECK!!! This time it's just a check in, but we still need you to do so, or else you do risk getting dropped from the game. And as always, please make a note of our AC rules in the Rules Post.

⊗ We are adding IC contact posts to the Student Directory, so if you haven't posted yours there, please do so!

⊗ RESERVES OPEN OCT 4TH, and a Test Drive Meme will be going up that same day. Tell your friends! Spread the word! A big part of how the game's plot will progress depends on the size of the game, so this next reserve/app round will be pretty important.



SCHOOL NEWS
⊗ While it went up last week, there is still some tagging around that can be done on the News Post. Lots of interesting plot strings to grab onto!

⊗ Velma's got an idea that some students might be interested in getting in on!

⊗ Fai and Christelle investigate the London bombings and also engage in typical spy movie stuff.

⊗ John Sublime held a rally! It was predictably uncomfortable...

⊗ President Kelly gave his address, as well as some other important news from around the world, still worth tagging around in!

⊗ GOSSIP TIME! Since it's been two weeks, I'm sure there's quite a build up...



AROUND THE WORLD
⊗ Better get used to the name "Dazzler". As THE premiere mutant pop diva, no doubt every single celebrity news avenue is going to be super focused on her. It's a good thing her music is pretty good, or this could get pretty annoying...

⊗ There is noticeable backlash in the US against President Kelly's intentions to veto the Mutant Registration Act. There are all kinds of rumors about his change of heart, chief of which is that his own daughter may have come out to him as a mutant, but some feel there's a deeper conspiracy going on.

⊗ The National Film Board of Canada has issued a public statement urging Wolverine to reconsider his position against having a film made about him. Many Canadians believe he is a national treasure that deserves to be immortalized in film, perhaps in an educational documentary. Logan, predictably, just belches and grumbles when asked about it.

⊗ The unfortunate incident in the news post was just the beginning. All over the world, "U-Men" are becoming louder and more violent. They are a cult that has formed around John Sublime's teachings, but right now, no legal connection can be made. Interpol, the FBI, SHIELD, and Professor X are all investigating...

Weekly Update - Sep 14th to Sep 20th

⊗ The app template has been updated slightly with a note about AU history length: "HOWEVER it should be noted that there is such a thing as too much information as well. Please do not make your history overly long or bogged down in ultimately unimportant information. Be kind to the mods reviewing your app."

⊗ There will be a News Post Mingle on Wednesday. For an example of what these are like, here is one from the old game. We will offer up plot tidpits in this post, so be sure you at least give it a look when it goes up, even if your character has no reaction at the time!



SCHOOL NEWS
⊗ Considering Fashion Week, there's a Shopping Trip log in the big city! Come get into a New York State of Mind.

⊗ Since student delinquency is pretty much expected, our boy Bigby is on top of that.

⊗ The Club Week event is still open for tagging and plotting! Plus there have been several posts about clubs: bonsai and Gaming clubs, martial art clubs, craft clubs, a kendo team, music clubs, STEM clubs, a Library Society, and a Baseball team!

⊗ The Daily Bugle of New York is sending a team to the Institute to cover its re-opening. Students may be interviewed and photographed for the article. Overall, the Bugle is expected to put a positive spin on the school, given their amicable relationship with Professor Xavier.

AROUND THE WORLD
⊗ As you might have already noticed on the game calendar, President Robert Kelly is planning to address the nation on Sept 22nd. As for his talking points, odds are on Genosha and the Mutant Registration Act are chief among the issues to be discussed.

⊗ John Sublime, author of "The Third Species" and the spiritual leader of the TransSpecies movement, will be giving an open seminar at a pro-mutant and pro-TransSpecies gathering in Central Park on Friday.

⊗ Erik Lehnsherr, aka Magneto, and leader of Genosha is having a meeting with UN officials sometime this week to facilitate better trade relationships with major world powers.

⊗ The Mutant Registration Act is gaining ground once more as a grass roots movement supported by a bipartisan effort in the US House of Representatives. Just like its last go around five years ago, this proposed law would require all mutants to be registered to federal and state level databases detailing their identity and mutant abilities.

⊗ Just like in the last game, we will be doing Weekly Updates! This is a good place to post with your teacher character's lesson plans, updates to X-Teams, and keep informed on what's going on in everyone's classes. Feel free to post around and build CR!

⊗ By now, everyone should have posted to the various lists. If you haven't, it's the Hundred Years Dungeon for you.

⊗ These posts will generally have more meat to them as the game goes on, and will serve as something of a summary of what's going on in the game. If you're ever lost as to what's going on, just check the tag and get caught up!

⊗ There seemed to be some confusion about adding your character tag to posts you comment to. We do not, as a rule, require this by any means. But if you want to in order to keep better track of things, feel free!

⊗ Club Week! We have both OOC and IC posts about this so far. If you haven't already started formulating ideas, feel free to share what you've got on this very post!

⊗ September 21s is International Peace Day and being the big ole' hippies they are, the Xavier Institute will be holding an awareness fundraiser that day. More details will follow next week.

⊗ The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge apparently still runs strong in 2018. Toph, Feliks, and FaiYuui have all taken the plunge. Who's next?

⊗ Being a mutant comes with a lot of mental baggage. Good thing our resident counselor is such a nice guy. If you have a character that could use it, be sure to give him a buzz!

⊗ Actual Disney Princess (no seriously) Giselle is offering Campus Tours free of charge! Caution: The mod team is not responsible for any potential musical numbers this might lead to.

⊗ You might also be interested in some ice skating lessons from a real live Canadian!

⊗ Or for the sporty types, get in on America's pastime with a quickly forming baseball team!

⊗ The Institute's own Logan has received yet another offer to have his life story made into a television series. He has, once again, turned them down.

⊗ Genosha has been in the news a lot lately. Namely, it seems that negotiations between UN diplomats and Genosha about international trade have all broken down. Magneto understandably has a bit of a problem with trading with nations with a history of mutant right violations. Some of the bigger problem countries? The US, China, and Russia... which also happen to be three of the largest economic super powers in the world. We'll see how this story pans out...

⊗ There are rumors that Mystique, the assassin that set all of the events of the Phoenix Incident in motion, has been hiding out in plain sight as one of President Kelly's chief advisers. It is unknown at this time if this is true or not.

⊗ News reports of the rash of mutant organ thefts from five years ago have largely died off.

⊗ However, in a seemingly unrelated story, John Sublime, author of the best-selling "The Third Species", has had a larger and larger voice in the public sphere, especially on social media. He and his followers have created a TransSpecies Movement, many of its proponents claiming to be "mutants trapped in human bodies". More on this later.
