THE TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello, True Believers!
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

Michael De Santa | Grand Theft Auto V
[ Michael sees you coming to take advantage of his "open office hours" out of the corner of his eye and, as quickly as possible, puts out the cigarette he was smoking and tries to hide the ashtray. But despite the fact that he cracked the window the room still smells of stale smoke.
His office is tiny and crammed, it looks like it might have been a closet at some point. There's a small wooden desk with a laptop on it and several movie posters plastered to the wall. They're all 80's action flicks that you've likely heard of. There's also a couple of trophies on a shelf, sitting with dust covering them.
Michael looks somewhat annoyed but still gestures for you to sit down. ]
Come on in, sit down. You needed something, right?
B
[ You're a student in Mr De Santa's film class and you've spent the last hour finishing watching an overly gorey, hyper masculine action film from the 80's. The film finishes playing on the projector and Michael points to the kid in the back row to flip on the lights. He walks over and pulls on the screen ever so slightly, letting it roll up with ease. ]
Remember, you've got an essay on this. Come on, don't groan, it's only a page. They want me to have you write so you all can still count this as an English elective, so really, if you think about it, you're the one benefitting...
[ The bell rings out as the other students rush towards the door. Michael yells out one more time in protest against the bell. ]
I'm serious, next class, I want papers on my desk from all of you f- friendly kids!
B
[Elsa entered this class expecting to get a varied tour of the different modern genres of films. Maybe it would even bring her up to speed on American pop culture. Unfortunately... they've seen nothing but violent, outdated sausagefests so far. It was gross for a little while, but Elsa's gotten used to it -- she just wants to see something more pleasant.]
May I ask you a question?
B
Oh, hey, Elsa, right? What can I help ya with?

[Because there's no way he can just keep showing the same stuff over and over again, right? ...Right?]

[ aka interesting films to him aka yes he only plans on showing gross action films ]
Is there something you were hoping to see more of?
no subject
Comedy... drama... horror, maybe...
So far, all we've seen are action films, as far as I can tell.

He's having a sudden realization that he's an awful teacher. ]
I mean, I've got other stuff at home. I don't see why I can't look through a couple of boxes, see what I can't dig up.

[This poor child.]
no subject
[ Yep. He's the worst kind of teacher ever. ]
no subject
Thank you for being so understanding.
[Heavens know that there are some teachers at this school who wouldn't be nearly so considerate.]
no subject
[ True, but he also wants to be liked too much to actually do a good job teaching. ]

[ Michael stop talking about them like they're aliens you were a high schooler once too.... ]
A
So. What's the catch?
A
There is no catch, kid. If you hadn't noticed, this is a school, and I'm pretty sure I could get kicked out if I tried to bribe or blackmail any of my students. No offense, but I need this job way too much to risk something like that.
[ There aren't may places left for mutants that the FBI happen to be keeping tabs on. ]

[He rubs his fictional beard.]
Maybe you've got something on The Big X himself! You keep his secret, and he lets you watch sweet movies all day, on the clock! That's how it is, isn't it!
[Beast Boy can see riiiight through you, Michael]
