Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

[Elsa entered this class expecting to get a varied tour of the different modern genres of films. Maybe it would even bring her up to speed on American pop culture. Unfortunately... they've seen nothing but violent, outdated sausagefests so far. It was gross for a little while, but Elsa's gotten used to it -- she just wants to see something more pleasant.]

May I ask you a question?

I was wondering what other genres of films we'll be looking at in this class.

[Because there's no way he can just keep showing the same stuff over and over again, right? ...Right?]

Well, I mean, we'll be looking at all of those classic films that kids your age missed out on. But I tried to only pick the interesting ones, I mean, after all, I don't want you guys falling asleep on me.

Is there something you were hoping to see more of?

Comedy... drama... horror, maybe...

So far, all we've seen are action films, as far as I can tell.

[ He pauses a bit at that. Wait, has he only been picking action films? Those are his favorites, but still...

He's having a sudden realization that he's an awful teacher. ]

I mean, I've got other stuff at home. I don't see why I can't look through a couple of boxes, see what I can't dig up.

Thank you very much. I'm sorry, I don't mean to tell you how to do your job, but... I haven't had an opportunity to see many movies in the past, so I'm interested in seeing a wide variety now.

You don't need to apologize or tell me your life story. I want you guys to have fun in this class, and well, if you're not having fun, then I want to know, alright?

[She nods. She didn't really... want to tell him her life's story, either, but it seemed like it added credibility to her statement at the time.]

Hey, I try. I mean when I was your age I hated going to class. I don't want to be a teacher everyone's gonna hate, you know?

[ True, but he also wants to be liked too much to actually do a good job teaching. ]

Yes. [Elsa smiles at him, somewhat shyly.] I believe that people learn better when they are being taught by someone they like.

That's what I figured, I mean, I'm more inclined to listen to someone I like. And I'd like to think that you kids are the same way.
