long_live_the_queenHi there! I'm Sam (the one that likes birds), and this is Kaede. Or Lucy if you're more familiar with the anime; in the manga she identifies herself as Kaede but we only learn this literally the last few pages. She's from Elfen Lied, that series with the hideously bloody opening scene and where everyone ever (including children) dies hideously and usually by decapitation or dismemberment. What fun. (The manga is dramatically worse on the death front.)
Kaede's not the friendliest person! She's been through a hell of a lot and came out extremely grumpy (to understate things). She's spent enough time off campus to ensure she could safely integrate with students before arrival, and so won't get to IMMEDIATE VIOLENCE responses. She'll think about it first!
She's a psychokinetic; mostly this shows up in her telekinesis represented by a bunch of jointless mostly invisible googly arm things coming out of her spine. They only reach for about two meters, but she can and does regularly throw things out of that range. Like rocks and trees. In this AU her telepathy is even stranger; she doesn't really think in words and finds most minds that do nearly incomprehensible so she doesn't bother peeking. There's a permissions post here if you'd like her to notice a surface thought or seven. She'll also casually mention someone's voice as being green or purple or pink because she sees little blotches of color when someone talks; this isn't always a meaningful color, though.
