Hey, true believers! Your friendly neighborhood mods here, and in lieu of your usual Weekly Update we have some things we'd like to lay on you before the end of the month. Two, to be precise! The first is an announcement regarding March's Activity Check (tl;dr: it got smaller this month), and the second is an opportunity for you all to tell us what we can do to make the game more engaging for you, what you'd like to see more of, what we can do better, all that good stuff.

So, working in that order:

Revised March Mini-AC

March has not been a great month! Not for activity in the game in general and especially not for your loving and devoted mod-team. We've had people sick, people changing jobs, people changing countries, and just generally life chewing us up all around. That's led to updates and events running much less smoothly than we'd have liked, particularly during and in the aftermath of the X-Day Riots. Combine that with multiple player hiatuses, and it's just been a very inactive month across the board.

Given all that, we don't feel it would be fair to penalize players for low activity during this month. So, while there will still be an Activity Check (starting on the 25th as per usual), players will only be required to submit one proof of activity for March. That goes for all characters, including those who would otherwise be required to submit extra proofs to make up for prior AC passes. (Characters normally exempt due to hiatus or acceptance into the game this application cycle still get a pass, obviously.)

Basically, this is our way of giving everyone a clean slate and saying that, if you're here and playing, we want you to stick around and let us see more of you! Feel the love, guys.

Let's Talk About the Game!

All of that being said, this month's difficulties have also given us a chance to look at activity overall in the game and take note of where it's not going as well as we'd like. The short version is that, while news posts and mod-run events have been getting a healthy amount of response, it feels like there's a lot of uncertainty and a lack of confidence about what to do when there's no big, global plot-affecting event going on. And that's something we want to help remedy as best we can!

One thing we're going to focus on is giving players more information and events to work with dealing with everyday life at the Institute, on top of all the mutant political shenanigans we've been playing up lately. You can call that "slice-of-life" if you want, but life at a school full of super-powered teenagers should pretty much always be crazy and awesome. We want the game's atmosphere to live up to that.

We already have a few things in the pipe on that front. Our recent push to encourage more student X-Teams is one step, and there's more stuff coming. (Get ready for student council elections, guys.) But we also want to hear from you all and get ideas and suggestions about what you'd like to see.

So, let us know! What kind of events and activities would you like more of? What can we do to encourage more player plots and independent CR building? Is the game's global plot progressing at a good rate, or do you feel it's moving too slow/too fast/whatever? Got a cool idea for something you'd love to do but haven't felt sure it would work?

Seriously, anything and everything, we'd like to hear from you.
