THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!


Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

[This ... is still a bit much for this new girl. Marie's standing in the middle of the corridor, clueless, spinning her timetable around and around in an vain attempt to make it make sense.

First day in school, and it's this school. Well.]

This is stupid. Why put that next to that?

[Seriously. Running across the entire campus for classes? Huh?]

[Up in the library, now, and she's in the corner with a notebook. Writing away, by the looks of things. And rather frustrated with it, too... every so often, not looking where, she hurls a ball of paper over her shoulder as whatever she's writing goes wrong again. Ngh.]

I'll have you know I'm phone tagging just for you. XD

[It was curious to see one of the new students scribbling furiously away in the middle of the library on their first day. Normally --from her observations at least -- they would be too busy trying to explore the entire building to really accomplish anything like studying. Though to be fair, it did not look like there was much studying going on, if the growing pile of crumpled paper was to go by. She crept close to the young woman, remaining silent in her effort to peer over her shoulder to see just what she was writing, only to have a crumpled page tossed in her face.]

[Izanami's hand snapped up to catch it before it fell, uncrumpling it to read its contents. Somehow, but some magicks that transcended the marvels of mutation, her normally passive expression fell into one of complete exasperation.]

What fooloshness is this?

[Marie's a bit too caught up in her writing for a moment to notice that someone else is there - but as soon as she hears the voice she snaps round, her face a study in shock and anger.]

Put that down! Stop reading it! I threw it away!

[Izanami paused, a mild look of amusement coming to her face at the young one's reaction. Yet even as she did, she could not help but feel a faint twinge of recognition; had she seen this girl before...?]

[If there's any familiarity, it's one-sided. She glare, still fuming-]

It was screwed up. It's trash! It's not supposed to be read! Do you look at everything that gets thrown away?!

When it strikes me in the face, certainly.

[That faint hint of amusement stayed on her face as she turned away, her eyes on the terrible writing.]

A part of me wants to be comfortable and familiar...
I seek tenderness, while my heart is in despair.

Goodness, perhaps I should have you schedualed with the school counselor...

Stop it! Stop reading it!

[Jumping to her feet in panic. (The thought that it might not be the best time, or the best person to be near-yelling at, doesn't seem to occur to her.)]

[Izanami was having none of that, stepping back as she continued reading.]

I search for the answers, I cross the bridge, and climb the fence.
totally bare and open, exposed to the world...
Wanting to love, to run, to be free, oh... this lost little girl.

[She clicked her tongue.]

I do not think the girl is the only thing lost here...

[Oh, this is just getting too much. She pushes forward, trying to grab the paper, ignoring any funny looks she might be getting...]

Why are you doing this?! I just want to - it's just - I just want to think about things, and you keep reading it to everyone!

[Yu looks at the lost-looking girl curiously. He was new himself, but she probably needed a hand...]

Physics? What's a physic?

Ah...it's the class about how things move. Did you need help finding it?

Why do you need a class about that? If you push something, it moves. If you drop it, it falls...

[But wait a second.]

[He's not going to argue the point, mostly because he doesn't know where to start.]

I'm going there right now, if you want to follow me.

[Marie logic. Fear it. She nods-]

[Yu turns and leads the way.]

Is this your first day of class?

[A moment passes before she adds-]

It's bigger than I thought it would be.

[ Takakage follows the trail of paper balls to where a certain young lady was sitting.

He clears his throat slightly to catch her attention. While his expression is still gentle, his voice has a certain firmness to it. ]

Excuse me. Could you please clear these up?

[ Referring to her balls, of course. Cleanliness is paramount in the library. ]

[ ooc: he looks visually about 20 so she could mistake him for a student :'D ]

[ Her caustic remarks fail to elicit any visible sort of reaction from him. ]

The library is a public place, and its cleanliness is the responsibility of all who use it. There is a dustbin beside that shelf, kindly use it if you need to dispose of anything.

[Grumble. Grumble. She starts to gather the pile up and deposit the lot.]

[ He watches the girl work, not leaving until she has cleared up all her trash. ]

Try not to waste so much paper. Many of them can still be used.

[ Referring to the crumpled sheets, of course. ]

[And more grumbling.]

Paper costs resources to produce, and thta's something the school is paying for.

[ It seems that she probably hasn't realized his identity as a teacher. ]
