THE TEST DRIVE MEME
Hello, True Believers!
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

[She laughs. Apparently, something about his comment succeeded in amusing her.]
I don't know. You seem to lack that... je ne sais quoi! Where is your fire? Do you think you have the passion to play Villager B? Convince me!
no subject
[ This. Feels like a phenomenally bad idea. ]

[She leans in, suddenly grasping him by the shoulders with great—but not inhuman—strength.]
Villager B! Your village has been razed to the ground, your family murdered, your children's blood flowing through the furrows! I have told you the news! And so, Villager B, what now do you do?
no subject
You killed them all off just like that?! [ Wait shoot, he's supposed to be acting here-- ]
I mean--err, w-what are you talking about!! I didn't leave home more than two days ago to sell our wares! How could this happen?! [ He makes a deeper, bellow-y voice for added effect. Sam's struggling here. ]

[Gilberte has a lot of thoughts about the theatre. Fortunately for Sam, though, she's not so much a critic. What she wants is a performance with spirit. It doesn't have to be—good, necessarily. She seems pleased, clasping her hands together.]
Yes, yes! They've all died! The victims of bandits! What will you do, mon bon villager? Will you seek revenge, or will you die of grief on the spot?
[She's very excited to see what will happen next!]
no subject
I will not die here today! [ Because that would be uncool. ] I mean, I don't have any weapons--but I will get some! And then slay the bandits!
2/2 oop
...Am I allowed to do that? Kill them? Or do I have to arrest them.

And if the ending is a happy one, or if the ending is a tragedy, that remains to be seen!
But yes, I see that your desire to have your revenge is strongest. Who knows what atrocities the bandits performed before your family was slaughtered! And now they lie unburied in the field where so lately your crops grew tall and strong.
[Gilberte loves making up these awful details.]

[ This is just getting worse by the second here oh my god ]
welcome to life with gilberte, sam
But think—it is when one has suffered the greatest agonies that one attains the greatest beauty!
drama life is so much more intense than he imagined....
YOU HAVE TO BE INTENSE TO SURVIVE ON STAGE
[She nods her approval.]
So brave, Villager B! And tell me, how are you feeling now, while you dig the pits alone as you bake in the heat of the day, with no one to call out to you save the harsh voices of the crows?
But how—how will you make it through this ordeal... There must be four pits, one for your wife and three for your children! Will... you weep?
SHRIEK

[She leans in, even more intense than before! (If that can be believed...)
She sort of forgot she was supposed to be convincing people to join drama club.]

I can't just cry out of nowhere...!
no subject
But you can! The potential exists within you, you have only to tap it! Observe.
[Gilberte pauses, and within moments, tears are already streaming down her face, and she begins to sob—terrible, wailing sobs of grief.]
no subject
A-a-alright, I get it! I get it, p-please...! I believe you!
no subject
You see...
I can weep at any time, for I have experienced the most agonizing despair! And so, whenever I wish to feel grief, I remember, and I feel that agony all over again! Like mon cher Villager B, I understand the pain of losing everything I hold dear.
Acting is not "fake". True art comes only from genuine, powerful feeling! That is what you must understand...

I don't think I'm cut out to have my whole village die as gruesome as that though.

[She reaches out to touch Sam, to raise his chin, but as soon as she does, she's no longer towering over him. She's still taller, but everything about her is suddenly much less monstrous and more normal. She doesn't seem to mind, however, letting out a laugh.]
Ah, what a dangerous gift you have, mon petit...
[She's one to talk.]
no subject
S...sorry--I don't know how to stop it. It just happens.
no subject
[She's talking as if she isn't still a 16 year old. And she looks it, while she's touching him. Which she keeps doing, because it's fun, and she has no sense that it's impolite.]
Poor Villager B! So many mutants would see him as a threat. But not Gilberte.
no subject
He doesn't usually have girls all over his face and stuff. ]
You're not...upset?
no subject
Upset? Why would I be? We are all the same. We were all given a great gift.
[She leans in closer, to kiss him on the cheek. As she's French, this is all very normal, of course! She whispers into his ear.]
And your gift does not infringe on mine.
no subject
Th...that was a k...a k-kiss just now!! A real kiss! On the cheek, but still. Wao. ]
U...u-uhhhhhh.....
