Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

[Right now, Mona Lisa is busy wrapping up some homework. Nothing too big, just an assignment she wanted to get out of the way as quickly as she could manage. She's still... trying to get used to the "a school for mutants" setting and the fact that she doesn't have to hide, at least while she's on the campus grounds. It's a weird feeling, but not a bad one.

In any case, she's about to wrap up her assignment and get up from the couch when someone else sat down next to her. Problem was...]

Hey, pal? You're sitting on my tail.

Look, I've never been all that crazy on talking to people over the internet. Don't get me wrong, I get that it's convenient and kind of hard to avoid, but...

I guess I just like face-to-face conversations more, alright? I mean, I used to... People outside of this school don't really want much to do with me, but that's their loss. They sure as heck don't know what they're missing.

[She can talk all she wants, it still hurts.]

Anyways, the name is Mona Lisa and I'm new. You see a green lizard-girl walking around the place? That's me.

Ah, that one! I really like that scarf, too. Where'd you get it?

It was a present, from one of my friends back at my old school. We used to hang out a lot.

I never really thought about it like that. Pink's always just been a color I really liked, you know?

[To be honest, he'd hardly noticed her at all when he walked into the room, having been focused on reading a book for one of his classes. It wasn't that the subject was fun, in fact it was a pain, but he had to focus to make sure the information sank in.

When he sat down and heard someone say he was sitting on their tail, his first response was to immediately get up and apologize.]

I'm sorry. I didn't see it....[Finally actually looking at her, he's admittedly a little surprised. Not freaking out, but he wasn't expecting that. He kind of sticks out too with his grey skin and black eyes.]

It's fine, no harm done, yeah? [A little bit sore, but otherwise it was just fine. Living with a tail had been something she had needed to get used to. Not to mention all the changes she needed to make in her wardrobe.

Though, Mona Lisa does catch him looking at her. It's the sort of look that she's all too familiar with.]

No, I just...I've never seen anyone like you before. Not exactly like you, that is.

[Before he'd fallen asleep, there was another student like her who appeared to have been a mix between turtle and human. That and the fact that his old man was sometimes green meant he was always drawn to other people who were green.]

[She holds out her arm, spreading out each of her four webbed fingers so he can get a good luck.]

Gregory had only been sitting long enough to check the cushions for softness. He jumped up at once and.. hovered there a moment. His walking stick clattered to the ground, and he blinked down at her from above a foot above the sofa. "Hey, sorry, Didn't see it there. I was just testing the sofa. But I'd love to hear your tale, you know, now that I've sat on it." Yes. He did just say that. Yes, his grin shows just how much he meant to say that. He regrets nothing, unless he hurt her. Then he'd regret that. And yeah... he's still floating.

[Her metallic hands raise to her eyes, her blue hair whisking from side to side as her head shakes no.]

[There's a second when she goes off screen a little and maybe Mona was about to leave? But hopefully before she does she'll hear a quick--]
