THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

Well, he's not gonna wait to be asked twice. He's just going to carefully hug her. Ever so carefully, because he feels distinctly like she's made out of porcelain just like his perfect little sisters were. He's so sorry.

She is made of porcelain tho

Jun quiets herself almost immediately after being hugged. She now has a source of warmth and also it's her first time hugging a man oops.

Jack doesn't really think about it past the point of 'she stopped crying'. And that calms him down plenty, too.

"Are you feeling better?"

[fire_and_romance]

"Yes. You're very warm.."

And now that she thinks about it he's pretty attractive, too. You know, for a giant marshmallow. She can work with that.

"Oh. Am I?"

He is warm. He has a very nice soft sweater that has been recently introduced to fabric softener and stain removers. It's nice to not have dried blood chafing him when he hugs people.

The temptation to hide in his sweater is very strong. But..that would be weird. Jun is not weird. She is a normal human child.

"You are. Very warm. And tall. How did you grow that big...?"

"Uhhh..."

Well, he's been honest with most people so far... he's nervous to bring it up to new people, but he is determined to be friends with her.

"I was built this way. In a lab. By scientists."

"So you're like...a genetic experiment?"

Now Jun is intrigued. She knows nothing about science, but that sounds really cool. She saw it on a tv show once.

"I guess. Yeah."

He doesn't like talking about it, but he's been setting himself up for talking about it a lot recently.

"It's a really long story. But I was built to... mm, nevermind. Let's not talk about it."

[fire_and_romance]

"I was kept in a basement for most of my life."

Jun tenses up, realizing what she just said. Why would she tell him something like that? She'd already sworn she wouldn't go around telling people...

Oh. It seems he does have someone to share his troubles with, then.

"I was made to assassinate someone. Now that he and my... the person that bought me... are dead... I'm not really sure what to do with myself."

[fire_and_romance]

"I don't really know what I'm doing either..There's too much to take in."

[the_prodigal_son]

"Everyone already seems to know what they're doing and what they want, it's... weird being the odd one out."

"At least you're not the only one?"

[the_prodigal_son]

"Not anymore." This makes him smile. Jack has been smiling a lot more in the past few months, and he's loving it. "You seriously remind me of my little sisters."

[fire_and_romance]

Jun's eyes light up instantly.

"You have little sisters? I always wanted a little sister. Instead I got a little brother who never came to visit me. But I have a big sister and she's really great.."

[the_prodigal_son]

"I kind of do... they're all older than me but I was already big when I met them and they were just little girls. I didn't know them for very long, though..."


He pauses.


He frowns.

"The man that built me... he made them, too. I don't remember what he did to me, but I think they had it worse... They were monsters when I met them."

[fire_and_romance]

"Monsters? Like what..?"

Of course she doesn't really want to know, it just seems like the thing to say. I mean you ask this kind of thing normally, right?

"They... had eyes like yours, but their voices were all weird... the place I'm from was hell but they thought they were in paradise. They rode around on big daddies and sucked blood out of corpses to make drugs. They didn't know any better. They thought that was fun. Because Suchong made them think that." His hug becomes a bit tighter, while he thinks about it, as if he thinks Jun is going to disappear if he lets go. "Tenenbaum saved them, and me, but I didn't make it out of there with her... I think she brought the girls to the surface, but I don't know. I got stuck under the ice for sixty years. I don't know where she is at all..."

Jun hugs the giant child as tightly as she can. Which probably isn't much for Jack.

"That's awful..how could somebody do something like that to little girls..?"

[the_prodigal_son]

"I don't know... I wasn't even born when he started working on me. But the things he's done..." His brows furrow, "He got drilled through the stomach by one of his monsters. It serves him right. I just hate that I couldn't kill him myself."

[fire_and_romance]

"I'd rather not think about you killing people...You're too kind for that."

[the_prodigal_son]

"I'd rather not think about killing people either. It's... I don't like thinking about where I'm from."

"Well that's all over. We're safe here, right? That's what mama said when I left.."

"...Yeah."

Not in the least, if his experience serves, but sure. He'll agree for her sake.
