SCHOOL NEWS

⊗ Winter is over; Prom is coming.

⊗ Zian would like all future junior superheroes to report for a mandatory check-up.

⊗ So far the most eligible date to the big dance is the local terrorist leader living in the sub-levels. Liir is so smooth.

⊗ Feliks and Fai don't need prom dates, though, because they finally got hitched.

⊗ Meanwhile, the school is gearing up for the first student government elections since the Institute's re-opening! You can sign characters up for election (or plot general shenanigans) here! (Bear in mind, students can nominate themselves or their classmates, so people who wouldn't put their name forward themselves might still end up on the ballot!)

⊗ Shindou wants to hit someone with a stick someone to beat him up a sparring partner.

⊗ If ya'll don't have some fodder for the RUMOR MILL during prom season, I don't know what to do with ya.

AROUND THE WORLD

⊗ With MLF-led riots having been put down on both the East and West coasts and organized activity by the group seemingly halted, the Kelly administration is publicly declaring victory in stemming the conflict between pro- and anti-mutant protesters.

⊗ Congressional opposition and pro-Registration pundits, however, have pushed back by noting that the MLF's leadership remains at large and could resurface at any time. Calls for Kelly to identify and bring into custody all high-level, American MLF leaders - most notably, the mysterious Claudine Renko - have become increasingly heated as open conflict continues to draw into a lull.

⊗ News reports about Ms. Renko are all incredibly vague, however, with no details as to her origins, intentions, or even nationality. Officially, her whereabouts are unknown, and the Kelly administration has publicly sought to downplay her significance within the MLF.

⊗ That being said, observant students might notice unmarked vehicles lurking around near the boundaries of the Institute campus with suspicious regularity...

Greg is still looking to form his team, partnered with/paired with Krista's club. The team's goals are to help anyone who needs it, regardless of race, species, beliefs, gender, orientation... anything. A non-bigoted team.

Liir, despite failing spectacularly to establish good relations with Renko, wants to start a mutant radical team. They will need a faculty sponsor.

For Naija, I was thinking of maybe a team composed of specialists for different environments, that are assigned to help/guide other teams? Naija for water of course, Rhia-mun would you be interested in the same for forest environments, morlocks for underground?

Kagerou mostly thinks of Rin as a big sourpuss, but it'd be impossible for Rin not to know Kagerou killed some assailants during the Riots. It's a way to kick off the conversation if nothing else.

Poking around again for interest in joining an Alric-led X-Team! There's an IC acquaintance-making log up here for IC getting-to-know-yous, so just checking in and raising awareness on the OOC side, as well.

Alric's mission is essentially visible heroics; do good deeds, in the open, as Good Samaritans. That includes fighting, if necessary, but within the bounds of and with respect for the law; but also humanitarian missions, assisting in emergencies, helping old ladies change their tires, whatever, like a superpowered neighborhood watch.

Team roster is still Shindou, Kanji, Rinka, and Bridget. They originally had a fifth man, so they're potentially open for a new member! Someone with tank-y or heavily destructive powers might be good, since they've got a lot of utility-style abilities going on as is? Personally, I'd really like someone with a more disruptive or "out-there" personality to round out the team, too, since everyone else is pretty agreeable. (Also their hair must be amazing, because apparently that's still a thing.)

Saitou was their faculty sponsor before and technically still is from off-screen, but they might be looking for somebody new/still in the game as stuff heats up!

And, training-wise, we still need to get them into the Danger Room...? Shindou, at least, is taking combat training very seriously following the January mission and the X-Day Riots, so he'll be very big on pushing the team there. If anyone else has ideas/stuff they'd like to do, let's hear'em! I know I always want more of these kids together.
