THE TEST DRIVE MEME

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

We also ask that you please pardon our dust. We're working very hard to get this game up and running and hope to be open by September 1st!

[Aww, that's cute. Trying to play it all cool and stuff? Feliks knows this act, because he totally does similar stuff when he gets flustered, which is less often than it used to be, but still not really uncommon at all.]

Super Dressup Abilities, and stuff like that. [Technically true, kind of!]

A fashionista, huh. [Assuming that's the right word when you're talking about a dude.] Personally I'm fun at parties.

[Something like a smirk with teeth - there, he played along! And then. Removes his hand from his hip, waves it vaguely, voice opens up some.]

So, how about -- your superpower?

Unless - [And holds it up.] Unless that is your were talking about your superpower, in which case, uh...

Cool! [Scratches his head.] -- I think.

[Gonna need more deets but that's if that's the case!]

[Feliks hopes he was half this hilarious about his Stumbling Around Getting Accustomed phase. He was probably worse, actually -- tends to fluster easily about some things, even now and especially when he was a teenager.]

I totally was, but I guess I didn't actually explain it much?

[And in the blink of an eye, his outfit has changed -- his skinny jeans are now loose, billowing pants and his top turns into a bellydancing shirt, complete with beading and little jingling bells. Why? Because while he's always seen it as a more fairy godmother sort of superpower, someone once called him "some kind of sparkly genie" once, and he still thinks it's hilarious.]

Like, think of it basically like illusions? Except I can't make something out of nothing, and I can make it real for a little while if I try.

So? What about you? I told you mine, you have to tell me yours now!

[A moment of "er - whoa!" and sizing it up, is that a - is that a bellydancing outfit? That's quite a way to show that off, yes, he gets the picture - ]

Me? Well, er - [Scratches the back of his head again, turns it off to the side - he can't top Feliks for something he can show off...

He can make it sound impressive, at the least.]

-- Aura channeling. [That's what someone called it, at least.] I-I can focus my energy into a forcefield! ...Or invisible armor. [Look aside.] Something like that.

Or recover from minor injuries. You know, like - just... scrapes, dings, and stuff.

It can come in pretty handy. [A little of an apology, directed at himself, for lack of anything earth-moving or showy masked as reasonable satisfaction.]

Wish I had that back when I was in a human high school. It would have been way useful, seriously!
