THE TEST DRIVE MEME
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
We also ask that you please pardon our dust. We're working very hard to get this game up and running and hope to be open by September 1st!

Not necessary. Thoughtful of you, though.
You'll be joining my department, won't you?
[Yeah, he's still teaching World History -- though it'll be good to have someone who specializes a bit more than he does in North American and modern sorts of things. Classical history is much nearer to his own heart.]

I believe so, I think we're in the same sort of area. Though I think we have different specialties. Honestly, I've never taught before so I'm simply nervous. Four years of history courses gives you a mind for facts, patterns and dates, not teaching those things. It's a bit of a leap for me.
[ She wraps a lock of hair around her finger, an old habit] I only took a class or two in education.

[For a moment or two, he was quiet, taking a sip of his coffee as he mulled over what to say to her.]
Classes can only tell you so much, anyway. Experience will teach you more.
[Another pause. He tended to be the harsh voice of realism, which was what people most often needed from him. Comfort... came less naturally. But he was learning a little bit, of late.]
You can't tell them everything, so try and show them the things that make them want to learn more on their own.
And if it feels like they're fighting you... figure out why. Keep the techniques that serve you, and get rid of the ones that don't.
You'll learn.
