THE TEST DRIVE MEME
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
We also ask that you please pardon our dust. We're working very hard to get this game up and running and hope to be open by September 1st!

There are people here from all over the world, right? That's what I heard, anyway. So, I'm curious: what languages to you speak? More than one? I want an idea of how many different ones you can hear in this school.
B. Library
[The library is totally great, isn't it? It's quiet, filled with books, and it's not usually overcrowded with students or teachers.
But you may want to watch out for books that suddenly start flying about, because that guy in the corner, sitting crossed-legged on the floor, is quick to slam one book shut and grab another off the shelves via telekinesis without looking. He really should be paying more attention, but he's very absorbed in whatever project he's working on, so you'll have to forgive him. Or you can just yell at him. Whatever works, right?]

My mom made sure I knew Japanese too, though.

[If there was any chance of him not seeming like a huge nerd, it's completely gone now.]

Unless you count binary as a language.

[Possibly invasive questions are totally okay in the name of knowledge, right?]

It's more like I project myself into them. Which is only slightly less stupid, but still.

[He thinks she's cool, at least. :( ]

But you know, people not being accepting of how you are doesn't change that you definitely are cool.
[Did you ever want a miniature version of Professor X preaching at you over the definition of cool?? Too bad, you've got one now.]

[He likes the smell of paper books too much to get rid of them.]

[She hardly intends to, though.]

[He was just being honest. :( ]

That's really amazing, though! You must be great at languages, if you've learned so many, right?
[That sounds amazing, but at the same time, it's kind of intimidating...]

I hope to be able to communicate with all kinds of people someday, so I want to learn as many languages as I can.

That's a great reason for it! Communication is the goal of language in the first place, so that's probably the best reason for it.
Honestly, I want to do the same, which is why I was asking. I was hoping to try and learn a little of everyone's languages here, so I can use it outside of school. But you're way ahead of me, already. :)
