THE TEST DRIVE MEME
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!
We also ask that you please pardon our dust. We're working very hard to get this game up and running and hope to be open by September 1st!

He's seen some displays of positively bizarre abilities before, though, so at least he doesn't seem too surprised apart from a bit of silence at first. But it is history lesson, and he is the teacher, so while the class is going to end soon, the distraction isn't very conducive.
"Are they real?" The first question is mostly out of curiosity. Then-- "Bring them outside."
Shoo, girl.

"No--no they aren't real, they're just. Mind cats!" She points this out by trying to pet one. It remains oddly solid for a moment before slipping into semi transparency. And odd sight, to see her hand slip right through a waving tail.
"See? They won't bother anyone I purromise."

...Okay, let's try to remember this girl first. Her name is... something-- Meulin Leijon. Right? Right. She's the deaf girl. But she can also lip read, and he does write out most of the lesson, so there's that. Shi didn't quite catch what makes her a mutant, but... is that it? Mind cats? Maybe it's the manifestation of other psychic-relatived abilities.
Making holographic illusions with your mind sounds rather impressive, to be honest. "The other students seem to be distracted by them, however." It's said in a stern tone that Meulin probably can't hear, but it does prompt the classmates to turn back to the lesson being conducted.
"Can you dissipate them?"

She tries the series of mental gymnastics needed to make them go away. No need to panic, she's just being silly. No need for panic at all, not really. Her teacher is there to teach her, not care about her weird cats. There's no reason to panic if she can make panic go away. Panic loses its twin then borders on shimmering itself. She's fine really, surrounded by potential friends! No need for panic or loneliness. Panic disappears but loneliness yawns and curls up on her desk.
Well. It's better than nothing and she just needs a few good text messages for loneliness really.
"Is that better?" She's a touch too loud, but she's hopeful.
