THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

[Alex yawns as he makes his way back to his dorm. He still feels like he's been run over by a truck, but at least he's actually awake and able to move again. He's half tempted to go right back to bed when he gets to his room, but after being asleep for so long he knows he needs to stay awake.

The question is, doing what? Homework? He's probably a few days behind in his classes, but he's not sure he's up for the mental exercise just yet. Maybe he'll hit the gym, get the blood pumping properly again.

Then he spots a new face. Huh, fresh meat. Interesting, considering Alex had heard about at least one student getting yanked out by his parents due to recent events.]

You picked a hell of a time to transfer.

[Larsa heard the voice and turned to see whom it had come from. He saw an older boy, still likely a student, though and nodded politely in acknowledgement of the greeting.]

I did? I'm afraid I know little of what happens here yet.

There was a dust up not long ago. Security system went haywire. They're still repairing parts of the main building.

[He's almost cheerful when he says this, despite the fact there are a few bandages on his arms. Mostly he just wants to see how the new kid responds. Best to divest newcomers of any notions that this school was 100% safe. At best it was... perhaps 75% safe? Which, all things considered, still were rather good odds.]

I see, was this an internal affair or a broach from the outside? [Larsa was more than used to security procedures by now, simply thanks to being a scion of Solidor.]

Technically, an outside job. Pretty brazen one at that considering S.H.I.E.L.D. was sitting on our front lawn at the time.

Does this sort of breach occur often?

Second time this school year. And from what I've heard from students who've been here longer, it isn't that unusual.

A possible amalgamation of powers causing a disturbance or something else, perhaps? [Food for thought, for certain.]

I think it's more there's a lot of people who really hate mutants, and a whole schoolful of young, untrained ones, scares the shite out of them.
