THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!

A few minutes later a girl who looks like she could easily be twelve is outside the infirmary. She seems really nervous until she spots Carlos moments later and attempts to look like nothing is wrong.

"You're the guy I was talking to, right?"

[roadburns]

Ohhh, that's... a tiny asian chick. Alright then. That works. He doesn't know why he imagined anything different.

"Yeah. Name's Carlos. Y'know, with all your bitchin' I kinda expected you to be white."

Carlos. Stop.

Is this guy serious? Jun has to stare at his face for a good minute to be sure. He...doesn't seem to be joking. Oh boy.

"So now I'm a bitchy white girl because I miss my family? Why don't you go rob a bank or sell some drugs? That's what you gangsters do, right? Or are you too busy jacking each other off?"

Well, maybe that was a little much. But hey, he started it and that's good enough for Jun.

[roadburns]

He snorts and just waves his arms grandly to indicate his wheelchair.

"You think I'm gonna be able to tricked out like this? Shit, man, I got run over by a truck before I got here- I mean, fuck, I come from Stilwater. So I'm sorry I'm havin' trouble givin' a shit if this fuckin' mansion don't live up to your expectations. 'Cause for me, it's got a janitor so that's better than any place I've ever been."

"I've lived in a basement my entire life you prick! If you've seen sunlight or celebrated birthdays or had friends, well then believe me you've had it a lot better than me. I'm sorry I'm standing but it isn't my fault you got run over!"

[roadburns]

"If you've been livin' in a basement you sure as fuck shouldn't be complainin' about this joint. 'Least in a basement no one's gonna gore you up for followin' orders. Go cool your shit and eat some rice."

Johnny would gore him up for saying this. But Johnny is also not here.

No, Johnny isn't there, so Carlos will have to settle for a good punch in the face from the tiny Chinese girl.

"I can't believe I actually felt bad for you earlier! You deserve a kick in the balls not a hug! I mean what the hell is wrong with you?!"

[roadburns]

Well, getting punched was somehow not something Carlos expected to do today. He groans in pain and presses a hand over his face, "What the shit..."

He grumbles and turns away from her, "What the fuck do you think is wrong with me, my life sucks balls right now and some whiny bitch punched me in the face for givin' her some perspective. So much for you bein' the better man here."

Jun freezes as soon as the words leave his mouth.

"How did you know...?"

The words leave her mouth without her really thinking about it. She probably doesn't realize she spoke at all. She's too stunned to process anything else.

[roadburns]

This makes him stop, and he retraces his verbal steps.

"Know what?"

This is honestly the most confusing conversation he's had in years. And he's known his boss.

"Wait you...you didn't know? But you said I was a man.."

[roadburns]

"What."

He blinks.

"What the fuck."

[fire_and_romance]

"Oh god, oh god, oh god..! You just had to say that!"

[roadburns]

"I got... no clue what you're talkin' about. At all. You sayin' you're a dude?"

[fire_and_romance]

"Don't say that so loudly! Do you want people to hear you??"

[roadburns]

"Holy shit. And I thought I had issues."

"Don't start! I've heard it all from my father before I don't need a repeat lesson on why I'm a freak."

[roadburns]

"...Actually... I don't care that much. It's your problem, not mine. 'Round Stilwater most people figure if you're different and still alive that's a good reason not to fuck with you."

"So you're not going to freak out...?"

Well that's a new one. Even her mom had a worse reaction, and her mom was just really worried and confused.

[roadburns]

"I used to have fuckin' wings coming out of my back, I'm not gonna judge someone who looks good in drag. It's not like you're the weirdest person I know, and hey, at least you're harmless."

Carlos she just punched you in the face

She's mumbling so he may or may not have understood that.

he's from stilwater. punching people in the face is a greeting there.

He heard 'I'm a girl', and that's enough to confuse him even more.

"You said you were a dude. So you got a dick, right?"
