THE TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello, True Believers!

This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun!


Be sure to read up on all game information and the "!event" tag to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

What? You don't need to be a monster to stand tall.

That's what's so great about ordinary humans! They make do with what they have!

[Oh no... don't be sad, Sam! Even though you are NOT FRIENDS, Eren doesn't want you to be sad.]

Yeah... you could save other people, like me! It doesn't matter how tall you are!

Me? Uh, not really, I'm just a guy!

[He doesn't think of himself as particularly nice, especially not to mutants. He wasn't even trying to be nice! He still doesn't like mutants.]

[ Accept his praise and be thankful!! Sam was touched and that is criteria enough for him. ]

[That was not his intention, he was just saying what he meant. Like he always does.]

I wasn't trying to do that at all. So you're not welcome.

[Although he feels a little bad for being mean when Sam is being nice to him.]

Don't be shy--you said somethin' really nice just now so just accept it okay?? Thaaaank yoooooouuuu--you know what comes after that right? Starts with "you're"...

[And he means it, he's not! When he decides on something, he carries through.]

--"welcome"! [ Sorry Eren did you say something. ]

Now you try it. Thank you, Eren! [ Annnd cue. Sam points up at him with both hands ]

No, Sam. I won't. You can't make me.

[Intense glaring.]

[sugoooi]

Thaaaaank yoooooouuuuu...! [ He might be saying that in a bit of a dorky spooky ghost-voice. Come on Eren, do it. ]

And I'd never be friends with a mutant!

[Nonetheless, he feels kind of bad as he says this.]

[ EREN THAT'S SO MEAN... That's completely not the cue you were supposed to have. ]

[Eren doesn't follow cues. HE'S ALREADY SORRY BUT HE CAN'T APOLOGIZE. This is the problem with being stubborn. So he folds his arms.]

What did you expect? I already told you what I think!

[sugoooi]

[ THAT STUBBORNNESS IS GOING TO GET HIM IN TROUBLE. Sam expects a full apology on his desk by tomorrow. In the meantime he's just going to look at the floor between them, shoulder tense and raised. ]

[But how can he stop being stubborn?? It's all he has!

He's definitely not apologizing. Just look what happened when Sam tried to get him to say "you're welcome". Imagine how it would go if someone tried to make him apologize.]

Sure you are! So am I! But maybe if you work on your power, you can help us not be freaks anymore.

Calling someone a freak just because they're different makes people fell awful! My feelings were seriously hurt just now--!

[ You hear him, he is speaking from the heart. Because his was wounded by that just now. His parents and sister might not have as big an issue with his being a mutant...but it's hard realizing that other people are suddenly thinking of him differently for it. He doesn't feel like he's changed at all. So why should it matter? ]

It's the truth. You're not normal.

[He's never actually had to interact with mutants before, and it's weird. He doesn't like it.]

I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings.

[He still feels bad, but of course he can't expect to make friends here! It's better for Sam to just accept that, too.]
