January Plot Sign-up
The Hellfire Club
Hello True Believers! As promised (sort of) this is the write-up/sign-up for the upcoming January event involving the Hellfire Club.
For those that don't know, the Hellfire Club is a super elite social club for the biggest movers and shakers in the world. Their leader is the Black King, Sebastian Shaw, who has had his fingers in a lot of plot pots lately. Shaw Industries funded Project Wideawake, the government program that brought the Senitnels that destroyed the school five years ago. He busted Bolivar Trask out of federal prison to work on even more anti-mutant technology. The powersuits worn by the U-Men were from Shaw Industries. And the high tech weapons used by the Friends of Humanity in the mall log? All came from him. And he's a vocal proponent of Mutant Registration.
So it's high time the X-Men got to the bottom of this Shaw guy. What game is he playing? What are his plans? His goals? Is he trying to start a war he can profit from? We're going to find out with this upcoming event.
The Plan
There are three stages to the plan. It should be noted that faculty AND students can both sign up for roles in any stage of this plan, but selections for who participates in what will be decided on a number of factors, including powers, specialties, and overall player willingness to commit to activity for the event. Aside from Nightcrawler and Shaw himself, there will be no major Mod NPCs involved.
STAGE 1: Information Gathering. A group will need to pose as neophyte socialites and mingle/rub elbows with the rich and famous of the Hellfire Club in an attempt to find out where the Black King conducts his private business. Rich people thrive on gossip, so with a convincing enough act, it should not be too difficult to get at least one of them to spill the beans. Especially after a few hundred dollar cocktails...
The mods will contact a random player to let them know they'll score the info, and players are more than free to NPC their own Hellfire Clubbers. They're all Pawns, anyways, so there's no real need to get too fussy over them.
STAGE 2: Infiltration. Cue the Mission Impossible theme. We know where Shaw's Inner Court hides, but getting to them isn't going to be easy. Security is extremely tight. Traps abound. Possibly killer robots. It's almost as if Shaw expects powered heroes to try and invade his privacy...
Once again, players will be free to control the action here. The main goal is obviously to navigate the facility, avoid making too much ruckus, and make a clear path for the confrontation team that Nightcrawler will teleport in.
STAGE 3 Confrontation. Shaw will not go down easily. There will be a fight. This will be a small team, so as not to crowd the log, versus Shaw and the Inner Court. Afterwards, he will need to be interrogated to finally get down to the bottom of what's going on (assuming he is defeated).
This will involve heavier Mod NPCing. More on Shaw than on Nightcrawler, who is mostly there just to get the team in and out.
The Sign-up
With all that said, now it's your turn. Please respond to this post with which character you're volunteering, what their powers are, what their specialty is, how willing you are for them to be injured, and which stages of the mission you would prefer to have them on if any preference exists. Once again, this is open to both faculty and student level characters, so feel free to sign up anyone you feel would be a fit for the mission.

Her powers are the ability to "hear" the desires of people and listening and following along with ten conversations at once. She's from a very well to do zaibatsu family that has fingers in just about everything, her age is a good age to be "coming out" to the world.
Information gathering, processing, and manipulation are her forte, also she is very good at taking pieces and reaching a plausible conclusion of what will happen and is usually right. I'm willing to let her get hurt, but no injuries that would cause any permanent damage, she's generally more aware of her surroundings to allow a total surprise and would slip away before personal harm most likely.

Maya has hearing things powers meaning she doesn't even need to be party to a conversation to get good Intel from it. She can also warn others if trouble is heading their way. She can get roughed up a little bit, but would do her best to avoid dumb unnecessary violence.
Laura meanwhile is a terrifying weapon of death trained to beat/survive most security and would happily trash robots and fancy things to deal with misplaced aggression. She can be practically killed and that's fine.

She's one of those mutants who can take a lot of punishment due to her regenerative powers. Also, since the earlier attack on the Institute, she's been giving Toph's classes more attention... Her natural charm will be of most use here, though.

However he would be good at phases 2 and 3.
Between the scale armor, the fire breathing, and the ability to go full on dragon, he would be an asset in phase three especially. Feel free to injure him as much as you want, so long as it is not permanent.

She has her keyblade which lets her absorb more than just the one power she holds within her, so to prep, she would ask some of the other mutants to hit her with their abilities. Mostly, though, she focuses on physical combat and she is agile and strong. She also has her armor, which is very hard to move in, so she will not engage it in combat unless they are high off the ground, or she is so badly injured that it is the only way for her to keep moving.
Feel free to injure her, anything that is not permanent.

Feliks has imagination manipulation, which basically boils down to illusions based around items which already exist, and temporary (but real and physical) manipulation of non-sentient objects near him. His skills that may be relevant are:
-A disarmingly flighty personality, good for mingling without making people suspicious
-Experience sneaking around doing X-man stuff
-Scrappiness and willingness to totally punch someone or hit them with an end table or something if he has to
-Out-of-the-box thinking
-Mastery of the element of
do-something-confusingsurprise-An encyclopedic knowledge of high-end handbags and shoes
On the other hand, Feliks would be a bit recognizable without effort put into makeup, and he tends to panic a little around too many strangers. Which could also be fun to play, but isn't so useful!
Hijikata's power is manipulation of air pressure and air currents. At its high end, he's capable of concentrated bursts of hurricane force winds. His relevant skills include:
-Cool-headedness
-Logic
-Being pretty damn smooth when he wants to be
-Martial arts skills
-The whole "brief, concentrated hurricane" thing
Rough them up freely, but I'd like to not injure Hijikata too badly*, since he did get injured badly in the first Sentinel incident and I don't want to overdo it.
*Like, put him in traction or anything

He has stealth training from before being in stasis, even if his powers aren't suited for it. He still knows what to do. Plus, he's level-headed and junk.
Overall capabilities, though? He's a fighter. He's got good control over his cryokinesis and can use it either offensively or defensively. And he's trained in both kendo and unarmed combat. I don't mind roughing him up to the point of a broken bone or two.
I don't have too much of a preference for which stage he goes into, though he was the one who took down John Sublime in the U-Men attack, so it may be better to give other characters some spotlight on this one.

He has a good eye for detail and can read people to some degree without psychic abilities, and has a certain degree of manipulative skill. However, this requires him to talk to only one person at a time.
Since he is a certified doctor and Zian is a healer mutant, the two of them can be called on to provide medical assistance if it is needed (in part 3 or part 2) as the situation requires. They work together, with Takakage setting any dislocated internal structures before Zian zaps the person to speed up their healing process.

She has super strength, regeneration, night vision, and a very limited destruction ability. She can only use it a few times on relatively small targets (a single door or shield rather than the entire side of the building, etc), and will be mentally useless for awhile afterwards.
She's still good at putting holes in things, though.
I am okay with injuries as long as they're not permanent etc.

She has no direct combat abilities but she can essentially double the power level limit of another character for ten minutes flat. No negative repercussions before then but very bad ones after that.
I'd be open for any kind of injury and she'd be in a directly supporting position in any combat scenario.

Powers: Telepathy and telekinesis. She can TRY to eavesdrop on thoughts, but it’s a risky venture. It would probably work best if her target was distracted by someone else. (Heavy conversation for example!) Telekenisis is useful as always for throwing things around and flying.
Specialty: In addition to the psychic stuff, M’gann has some black ops experience thanks to her time with the YJ team. Infiltration is something she’s got at least a little background in.
Injury: Sure! Don’t want anything super severe, but a bit of roughing up is fine.
Missions: Stage 1 and 2 are the hats I’d like to toss M’gann’s name into, please!

Kyouko for Stage 2. Kyouko's perception of sound and vibrations in general allows her to visualize through sound before seeing. She can notice discrepancies in the shape of the room through careful use of echoes, detecting traps and the like.
Reimu for Stage 3. Reimu is pretty purely a combat specialist, lacking the social graces for the first part or the finesse for the second. He's a seasoned hero and X-man and prepared for whatever the Inner Court might throw at him.
no subject
Specialty: Espionage, infiltration and combat.
Powers: Invisibility and disguise
Injury: Perfectly fine to have her beaten up a fair bit. She can take it.
no subject
Powers: Creation of telepathic networks between individuals; temporary physical enhancement of those linked to his networks.
Specialty: Group coordination.
Injury: Sure, though unless he ends up in a heavy combat part of the mission I'm not really looking to get him seriously damaged.
Mission: Stage 1 or Stage 2, please. Shindou's powers would be pretty ideal for stage 2 in particular, if the infiltration team needed to split up at all. But they could also potentially be of help keeping tabs on everyone from the Institute slipping into the crowd in stage 1, and he has other advantages there -- namely, actually being the sole heir of a stupidly wealthy family, with the social experience that goes with it. An adolescence worth of making nice for his parents' dinner parties has prepared him for this day...!!

Meanwhile, I'd like to sign up Raven for Stage 3. Raven's more of a combatant and her powers of Soul Projection could be a good addition to the fight against Shaw.

I'm fine with Rinka getting moderately injured, up to and including things that might require a short infirmary stay.
Ugh, I want to toss in Alex so much but he'd nope right out.no subject
Well, as the rest of his team seem to be signed up...Kanji's up for phase 2 or 3 (there's no way in hell he can mingle with high society worth a damn.)
While he's hardly the quietest of sorts, his electric powers could come in handy for shorting out electronic security systems or the odd robot. He's a solid if untrained fighter and always up for smashing heads in that need to be smashed.
I'd be fine with him getting hurt as long as it's nothing permanent/long term.

ALSO I REALIZED I OMITTED TO MENTION that I am okay with mild and moderate injury!

Feel free to injure her, but I'd like to avoid anything more than a broken limb or two for now.

Signing Luvander up for stage 2 or stage 3 because I'm awful. The kid can heal himself and others - albeit not without pains - and is trained in combat and use of weapons from the tender age of 6. He's a good backup to have around if things go pancake-shaped, all in all.
Signing Souji up for nothing because while he would undoubtedly want to help, no one wants that particular loose canon on their team on a mission like this.Oh, and injure the boys as you see fit. Especially Luvander, people with healing factors have it coming anyway. /dreadful

bluh bluh posting everything late
Worst case, he'll just hang around and assist the medics or something, keep the home fires burning, all that.

If things get hairy her alter ego will take over and she'll be a great fighting asset for the team. Donna has Psychic Constructs are her mutation and they're good for doing a lot of physical damage to others in close hand-to-hand combat.
Belle will prefer stage 1 and Donna will prefer to be a part of stage 2 or 3.
no subject
If need be he can also provide support for Stage 2 or 3 with his Healing, either via direct healing or via Potions.
The latter he can give out to those involved and let them go do their thing, the former he'd have to actually accompany them or would need the injured brought to him if possible.
The drawbacks of his accompanying them is the fact he does have a bad leg, thus he can't run and he needs his cane to walk, while he can limp short distance without it, it'll hurt him and he'll be slow. I'm fine with minor to moderate injury for him.

So not late to the party...Signing Marisa up for Stage 3.
Because honestly? She's not likely to make anything easy on the other stages. Powers are Heat and Light Manipulation for lasers/bullets and explosions. Injuries and such, as long as it wasn't too horrible. (Broken bones are fine, Losing a limb not so much)

His power is sound manipulation of the siren song kind, meaning he can use sounds (usually music but also just his own natural voice) to emotionally influence people, and in it's more extreme form completely transfix them.
He's also pretty damn flexible, well trained in hand-to-hand combat and pretty comfortable with using a gun as well as other weapons, and he knows how to stay calm and focused under pressure. He's very good with social events and used to fancy mingling, and his mutant power is pretty useful when it comes to making people open up to him, but he's also rather publicly out as a mutant and would risk being recognized without a disguise of some kind.
Feel free to injure at will.
